Curious as to the OB’s uses. It is indeed a sweet niche. Need to justify a purchase??

I concur, and also led to many a purple bruised shoulder. That recoiling barrel was brutal.

Was this just the 16 that was rough? I shoot an old Belgian made 12 guage and I dont think it kicks bad.
Now that I'm thinking it might be because the only other shotgun I shoot often is an 870 12 gauge lol. Not really a good comparison

My Remington 11-48 does this. It is not fun to shoot.

I don’t have a 16, but I have a Belgian Light 12. I don’t really notice the recoil as a bigger guy, but I certainly have a bruised shoulder after a skeet shoot.

My cousin shot a slug through the middle of his foot with a sweet 16 at 12 years old in 1971. Doctors did a great job saving it and he went on to play football & baseball in school.

My Dad had one,I didn’t really care for it.Good thing,I’m pretty sure his dopehead stepson sold it after he died.
I have Browning B-80’’s,12 ga and a 20 ga.I really like them.
My wife got her grandfathers’s 11-48 28 ga,full choke.My favorite squirrel hunting shotgun,I swear I killled squirrels with it as far as I could with a 12 ga.
He was a quail hunter,must have been a good shot.

My uncle had an Belgium made Sweet 16 when I was kid, he used it for squirrel hunting mostly.

Have a 16 that my grandpa bought new in 1933. The last time it was fired was in 1986.

Friction ring. Turn it one way for light loads, other way for heavy loads.
If the friction ring is set the correct way, it isn't bad recoil at all.
If it's set the wrong way, it kicks like a mule and usually cracks the foregrip.

My grandpa had one that he used for all bird hunting, but he mostly quails hunted with it and his old English pointer.
My dad has it now, but as he's now 83, it's unfortunately a safe queen for now.

Have an old Savage 12 GA (don't recall the model) built on the same recoil action as a Browning and it will absolutely murder your shoulder and if not wearing hearing protection your ears will ring for days.

I was just given a 1971 Sweet 16 just last month. My uncle got it from my aunt (his older sister for those keeping score at home), along with a few other Brownings. Gifted me the 16. Can't wait to go miss doves with it.
