Bodacious was BAMF!
Rodeo related.
I wore out the vhs of 8 seconds.
The VCR ate it and I cried.

Bubba Dunn from Alexandria rode him once for sure and I actually think he rode him twice.

Have a cousin and 3 close friends that rode back in the 90s. Got to meet Tuff and have a few old 110mm photos of us drinking beers lol

Had another friend that fought bulls for 20+ years and he said of all the the bulls he ever fought was Yellow Jacket was the meanest sob he ever saw on any given night.

We had some goodtimes back then and all I did was work the stripping chutes.

ETA:
John Godwin (Duck Commander personality for those that know) is one I left off that list. He would ride with my cousin and them too. That dude is funny ah in real life.

Three bad asses right here.

quote:

Red Rock is the bull that was never ridden in professional rodeo. He had 309 attempts in the PRCA circuit, and not one rider was able to stay on him for the full eight seconds. While Red Rock was eventually ridden by Lane Frost during a special event called the "Challenge of the Champions", this was not a part of his official PRCA career.

quote:

Perhaps no bucking bull in rodeo history was as feared as Bodacious, a 1,900-pound cross-bred Charbray that burst upon the scene in 1992. In four years, Bo was virtually unrideable. All muscle, the bull with the distinctive yellow coloring bucked off 127 of his 135 riders.

quote:

Bushwacker was a legendary bucking bull in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). He was a three-time World Champion Bull (2011, 2013, 2014) known for his incredible athleticism and dominance. He bucked off 64 of his 66 opponents in six years on the BFTS (Built Ford Tough Series) and had a record of 42 consecutive buckoffs, a PBR record. He is widely considered one of the greatest bucking bulls of all time.

However, I think Bushwacker is tGOAT rodeo bull though. The rivalry with JB Mauney and his unridden streak of over 40 (I think) are the stuff of legend.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think JB only went 7.9 on Bushwacker

Cool remembrance video

That is correct…Bubba Dunn rode Bodacious twice. I went to high school back in CenLa with Bubba, who I believe is now in the pro rodeo hall of fame.

Former LSU Player Todd McClure raises Bucking Bulls, in case some didn’t know.

Urban Cowboy added to the bull riding. To this day, if my oldest puts in a cowboy hat, she’ll get called Pam, from the movie.

Gilley’s is gone now, but about 8 years ago, I found the original sign, it was off Spencer Hwy in Pasadena.

Good to see some PBR talk on here. A guy I grew up with and played football together all throughout school raises bulls for PBR.

He’s won stock contractor of the year 3 years running and the prized bull they had when we were kids was named Hammer.

Really happy for my friend. He’s a great guy and gentle giant. Played football at EMCC under Buddy Stephens and drove up to his recruiting trip with a trailer full of bulls he was taking out west buddy loved that

I know some stock contractors. Yes, they use bulls that perform well to breed, but the cow is just as important.

In other words, when a cow throws a good bucking bull, they AI her back to the original sire, flush her, AI her to other top bucking bulls, embryo flush again and implant multiple calves into recip cows. Usually a dairy cross to provide extra milk.

The cows that produce good bulls are coveted.

When Shivers retired I had a bit of dry spell until JB came around.

I don't watch as much as I want to. Also the tickets are damn expensive now.
