Or will I die?

Picked them off an oak stump around New Iberia. My research looks like they are armillaria and good to eat, but I want to make sure.

Only ones I ate come out of a cow patty. I thought they were gonna kill me but ended up ok.

Why do people risk stupid shite like this? Go to Walmart, get some Portobello mushrooms, throw them on the grill, top with marinara and mozzarella, eat.

Because freshly picked champignons are delicious when lightly battered and fried.

ETA: You should totally be certain and know what the hell you're doing though.

My dad could have told you, but he's gone now. RIP Dad. He used to know which ones were good to eat. I would not even attempt to eat those, but that's just me.

I really like mushrooms and these smelled really good, big I went ahead and tossed them.

I’ve wanted to get into foraging for mushrooms, but really don’t know anyone who can tell me what’s good and what’s not. Internet research can only get you so far.

First, you make a roux.

Seriously-if you have to ask the answer is no.

Armillaria tabescens

You won't die but they are pretty bitter. I would pass on these.

Lol, goodness people relax. There are actually tons of great mushrooms that you can eat in the woods of the USA. Most of them grow further north where it freezes though.

As said OP those look like chanterelles. I'm not a mushroom pro by any means though. This doesn't mean a lot but they do look more edible then not especially since you found so many.

me personally i would never do this..

here is a fun story. Guy at my church years ago was making spaghetti for him and his mom. Picked some shrooms for it. Well shortly after eating they both realized something was wrong. They immediately called poison number and described the shrooms they ate. He then realized he made a grave mistake and that he had cooked and fed not only himself but his mother a deadly mushroom. The people on the line told them there is absolutely nothing they can do now, but sit and wait and hope they didnt consume enough. He said that he was so upset he had even tried this that he just knew he had killed his mother and himself. He said after several hours of intense pain and stress it all passed and they both lived.. never again he said.

so if you do try that.. be 1000000000% sure

That’s exactly what I’ve heard. And it was foggy this morning. I figured oak/willow why’s the difference.

As far as I know, there is no poisonous mushroom that grows in our area that will straight up kill you. Give you stomach pains, make you trip, yes, but there are no deadly mushrooms.
