Having had the privilege to hunt that area before, I’ll say that is not only a good price but will sell with little effort. A group of hunters will LLC and purchase it or a company will snag it. It’s truly monster buck island. Not to mention great duck hunting and fishing. It’s the total sportsman’s paradise package.

I've been to diamond and davis. They are awesome. Give me that money and I am still going to Kansas, Iowa, Illinois etc to spend it.

I wonder about this part. It's directly north across the lake from the camp I often get to hunt. The camp area I hunt does not flood every year.

That’s higher than buzzard arse for land that floods annually

Sure is some great deer hunting though. Which is all that matters

If I'm buying 600 acres for that amount, it better come with one heck of a house, maids, chauffeurs, heated and cooled hunting stands and one enormous lake stocked with bass, brim, catfish and a mermaid!

Just admit, you wanna bang that mermaid.

There’s land for sale on Davis all the time.

Clearly some of you have never been to Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, etc. If you had $3 million to spend on hunting land, Louisiana would not rank very high on the list of states in which to buy.

It may not be the best place for deer and for ducks, but it’s pretty darn good for deer, ducks, and fishing if you live close enough it’s a routine weekend spot.

Now I agree if I have $3 mil I’m likely buying a badarse 200 acres in the Midwest it could even be Mississippi River bottom land in Illinois or something, a nice fishing camp, and a nice waterfowl property.

But 600 acres is a very good chunk of land.

You really need to see how small 600 ac is without trees.

I get that at all but who wants to travel every time you want to go deer hunting. I would much rather drive down the road to incredible hunting. Part of my enjoyment deer hunting is my brothers, dad, nephew's going out to the camp for the weekend

Plus aren't their Seasons much shorter?

This is the kicker. Being able to go every weekend vs maybe a few times per year.

Is $5K/acre the going price for land along the Ms River? You could buy a farm with old growth timber on it here in Ga for a lot less than that.

No that's high for regular land, but this is literally hunting paradise. (For the South anyway)

Johnny Huntsman and a few baws got on Davis in the early 80s, my uncle being one of them. I believe they bought it dirt cheap off a little old lady that inherited it. She sold it for around one mill or so, now individual camps go for 600 or 700k.

No matter how high you jack up your camp though, the river wins.
