You would think META AI could replace at least 10%.

This isn't a clearing of the decks. It's a shot across the bow.

Theyve been laying off people by the thousands year after year and they still have 72,000 employees. How the hell does running Facebook and Instagram take 72,000 people?
I get the feeling 90% of them are useless.

So he’s keeping 95% of low performers?

I work for a large company based in San Francisco. These cuts have little to do with “low performance.” They’re replacing people with AI. Our IT and Cust Support teams were gutted in the last quarter of 2024. The terminology benefits the employer when it comes to impending lawsuits.

Why do you orgasm to job cuts. Job cuts sometimes ( and now a days) lead to loss of income, that leads to hardships, families getting destroyed, lives getting ruined. This is not like football coaches getting a mult-million dollar buyout.
Ummm, yeah, and this is what these scumbags have been doing for years and actively celebrated you losing your job. Almost all of these people are complete scumbags, so yes I relish in karma coming their way.

That’s what this is all about. Again, these people relished in coal miners losing their livelihood and said that they should learn to code, but when journalists were shitcanned and were told to do the same thing, these people were banned because journalists are good people while coal miners are bad. So sorry it’s karma.

Just listened to him on Joe Rogan. He said sometime during this year that Meta AI will probably be functioning at a mid level engineer capacity.
Listening to him talk about using holograms to have people present at meetings or functions was just wild. Like Star Wars shite like talking with people “live.”

Crazy to think Facebook and Instagram employ 72,000 people.
I mean Tigerdroppings gets by with like half that many.
Stop with that narrative, you rodentologist.

LOL no he's not - he's only doing this "I'm actually libertarian now" act because it helps him monetarily. If Kamala would have won he would have doubled down on Woke-ism.

I'm kinda curious if they're still all in on the metaverse as the next huge thing. I mean, it was a huge deal for about two months and they changed the entire name of the company to align.
That said my META shares are up 209% so keep those efficiency cuts coming

FB, Google and most of those big tech companies always cut the lowest 5%. Every year. My nephew started working at Google during the pandemic when they were hiring thousands. Ultimately they cut around 15% in one day. He got a stupid big severance, around 2 years salary, which of course he wasted. Now he's barely getting by on freelance stuff.
He said all the perks you hear about are true. Free food always, free housing, "safe spaces" everywhere, game rooms, arcades, basketball courts, bowling etc. They were watched/tracked constantly. High performers got access to better stuff. Management did not get extra perks (apart from salaries and such). They shlubbed with the masses.
They were allowed to bring "guests" onto the google campus for inside access tours anytime. Periodically someone would get fired for "selling" tours.

How much do you think TD pulls in in Ad revenue a year minus server expenses and if he pays Larry Leoser? 100k?

OMG,

Thanks for that laugh

Kind of agree here.
Let a couple of folks gracefully resign.

You are making this into a white collar vs blue collar fight. Please understand most white collar workers are just like blue collar workers and earn about as much and about as much skilled. Sometimes even less.
The only people who celebrate job losses are the millionaires and billionaires who are doing the cutting. The CEO who wants to buy a new $250,000,000 ranch, so he cuts 5000 jobs.
Actually it is really strange that you guys are celebrating those people.

i’m too much of a cockeyed pessimist to automatically assume that any of his cabinet picks will be “competent, loyal, and determined” after the deep disappointments of his first term

Exxon says the sweet spot is 10%….. funny how so many people quote that when they’re getting ready to cut.
