But tariffs.
I had no idea Trump put new tariffs on existing homes...

Detroit was once the wealthiest city in the world and was often referred to as the "Paris of the West". Then they elected a literal card carrying communist in Coleman Young, and 50 years of non-stop "progressivism" later, you get "10,000 houses under $10,000 on the market".

SF should learn its lesson soon, time is ticking away.

SF has significantly better weather. SF has its problem but it would be a pretty awesome place to live

Pretty much the perfect city to be homeless in, even if the government wasn't catering to them. Never hot, never cold

I agree

Not really a good comparison at all

Other than the Detroit River, the city didn't have any other potential without the auto industry boom

I stay in a hotel in SF every couple of months. I regularly take my 2.5yo and 4.5yo with me after 5pm. We even ride public transportation after dark for Giants and Warriors games.

supersaint says this is fine, no problems, nashville-boy. its just the tenderloin district.

Let the Austin market tumble. It's absurd here. I'm in the market, hopefully will be able to scoop up an average deal next year.

It's been going downhill since well before Coleman Young. My Grandfather got his family out after the race riots of 1943. Not an easy thing to do with gas rationing and the war ongoing but he could see what was coming. There were major race riots in 1967 as well.

My home in central FL went from $400k to $365k during Dementia joes pretend presidency. What is another 1.8% going to hurt since I am not selling?

Desantis is trying to get me a $1k kickback on property taxes.

Baton Rouge isn't on that list? There is a house I like that if the price dropped, I wouldn't be mad.

you mean like DOWNTOWN?
Parts of downtown, I guess.

I was there last month and left my hotel well after 5PM. The Italian restaurant we went to was crazy crowded and there were people everywhere. In the more outlying neighborhoods like Richmond it just seems also entirely normal.

To me the shithole aspects are more related to the "no more algebra" type of shite.

I always feel cold in fricking San Francisco outside of summer.
Don't get me wrong that city is one of my favorite places to be, or used to be.

I've been very happy recently to see that public officials have quietly made a turnaround- actual efforts to clean up the streets and to prosecute some of the worst repeat criminals on the streets. Hope it continues.
