If next advisory comes back cat 2, I would. I also have kids. If I didn’t, I probably would stay.

I’m from nola. Our family rule was always to leave with a cat 3. Depends where u live and if u have little ones. Most are perfectly safe for a 1 or 2. But always follow your gut.

frick this.... work (state run) was steadfast in not cancelling normal functions. They were salty that they had cancelled a day here or there for other storms that seemed like they would hit and missed at the last second.

NOW as of yesterday it was pretty certain at least a category 1 hurricane was going to hit today and they were like "business as usual" and now when I wake up having to get ready for work there's a strong possibility of a category 2 storm hitting today and nobody has said anything.

frick this.

I’m on the fence too, but I’m leaning towards staying (with 4 and 6 year old boys). If power goes out we’ll head to my in laws with a whole home generator once the weather allows.

Hard to say. If you like electricity, I would probably go to somewhere West of BR and watch it. You can always go back right after if it misses NOLA.

I work in Slidell, and yesterday they said business as usual today. I have to imagine they'll shut things down at noon.

Similar situation for me, have to fend for myself.

Can someone provide estimated times we can expect impacts? North shore area, just need to know when to be off the roads with my kids
