This new law hasn’t even been getting talked about until I started seeing articles pop up recently. Next year all new cars will be required to have this technology to spy on you.

2027 federal law for all new cars

Well, because no such law exists for starters.

No law existed before backup cameras started being a thing and then they became mandatory.

Pretty sure no laws existed before any new law. I am also sure that not every proposed law becomes a law; more specifically, more than 90% proposed federal laws never become laws.

But, by all means, follow this one closely.

Nobody should be okay with the idea of this.

It is inside The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, passed by Congress in 2021.

It included a statute requiring new cars to have driver-monitoring systems designed to detect impaired drivers. The bill gave automakers three years to develop the technology, which would affect 2027 models of cars.

A lot of cars already have this.

The little coffee cup emblem in Mercedes is an example.

Pretty sure a senator's daughter was ran over in a driveway which is why he wrote the bill.

Because that’ll be what makes them storm the capital

Pretty sure my phone already surveillances every aspect of my life including reading my thoughts. Least my car is in my driveway most the time and not in my pocket.

Why would anyone be against this? If this protects society overall we should all be for it.

If you’re incapable of operating a 7,000 lb. vehicle safely while I’m on the road with my family, I don’t want you driving.

if this new system comes with the ability to disable the vehicle if a cell phone is turned on or disable the cell phone if the vehicle is out of park, our society would implode

First thing I thought of was a battered woman, who is visibly beaten, the car refuses to start and her assailant breaks the window and beats her into a coma. That woman will be able to rename Ford if she chooses.

I’ve posted on the O-T half-drunk going 80mph blaring Toby Keith while on the road with your family. How’s that for capable?

They’ve already convinced themselves no such law exists and this is AI even though there are many other articles about it on military.com and other publications. But they’ll claim it’s fake until it’s not. Insurance companies are absolutely behind this and no your rates won’t go down, they’ll go up cause this new technology just raised the price of the car.
