Well, duh!

But it all the times that it will be wrong and cause massive inconveniences, or worse, that we are all against.

I’m not for any kind of law that enables things to spy on me, BUT, if this happens and makes the roads safer for everyone, my insurance rates will go down, right? Right?? Just like they have progressively gotten lower with inventions like airbags and cameras and precollision detection and radar adaptive cruise….

Nicely played! Bravo!

I (4-5 times per year) drive 12-15 hour distances straight for work, and the "driver alert" messages come at least a 3 times for stupid shite; normally worn yellow lines in the handful of places the lane placement makes no sense.

what if it captures you doing something clearly illegal? Does it report you to law enforcement? Or is it not trained for that?

Don't give the designers any new ideas.

Yeah, I get that's a crazy scenario, but you can see where this would go, right? I'll say this again because it's appropriate here: why do liberal leaning thinkers reach a conclusion they like and stop there? Because it's obvious you haven't thought this through.

The automobile and insurance companies have probably already thought of that. I'm sure their liability will be limited, by law, if such a thing were to happen.

Should’ve been called the inflation act. Spent a shite ton of money and no infrastructure or jobs were created.

Not to mention the fact that when this tech inevitably malfunctions, your car is a brick.

When’s the last time you had to speed away from a murderer/tornado/Armageddon flood?

Tell that to the folks who were evacuating the LA fires. Think their stress levels were elevated as they fled their homes? Ever had to load your wife, kids, and the family dog in the car to evacuate for a hurricane? It’s not the same as heading to Disney.
What about a guy who just mowed a couple of acres of grass in July? And weedeated around a structure? Think his facial features may be indicate elevated stress? How bout someone who ha to walk through a parking lot at a plant or even a shopping center in July? Pretty sure they’ll be sweating, rosy hued, and have elevated respiration. Should their car be inoperable because of it?

Relax. It’s a computer. If this does get implemented - and it won’t - some smart hacker will sell you a chip that can bypass it. Hell, you can plug in a usb and watch Netflix on your cars radio now. You know how fast a patch would be available. Stop sky screaming.

Trump is president and will never allow such a law even if it exists to be ever implemented. One EO and it will be squashed. Otherwise a SCOTUS challenge will squash it.

There will undoubtedly be some override for situations like this.

That’s what I despise about America. Anytime someone gets killed we gotta make a law to stop it.
