She'd probably make more money if she didn't work for a subsidized government monopoly.

Your thoughts on the Post Office situation?
1) Stop Saturday delivery (which the postal union adamantly opposes doing because it would almost eliminate overtime and 2) limit the postal retirement benefit at the same level of retirement benefits as social security and the USPS financial deficit goes away.

I’ve never had any issue USPS until recently.
Trump and his appointed Poster Master are purposely trying to destroy them and it’s working. I’ve never seen so much complaining about delivery times. A little bit of research goes to show that this is part of their plan. They are purposely slowing down delivery times. They have implemented new rules that are completely changing delivery. The entire point is to create unfavorable attitudes toward USPS in an effort to gain support for privatization.
If you’ve noticed something saying “delivery attempted- no access, etc” it’s because the carrier did not have time to finish their route.

Also, tell your wife that my home does not have a receptionist to leave a package with, it's not blocked by construction, and that there is no gate. They need to come up with better excuses for why my mail wasn't delivered. Maybe because their grandma was having a baby.
I know it isn’t this guys wife and no reflection on her but my mail woman is the absolute worst. She constantly drives well into the area of grass where the mailbox is in a crescent shape tearing up the yard when it rains Eventhough the mailbox is the correct distance from the road for her to put the mail. This has happened twice so bad thag I spent hrs fixing it. Just the other day she was delivering on the street when a 5th wheel and then 2 trucks with boats were coming down the street. She was parked at a mail box as they were passing and then just blasted out infront of the boat after the fifth wheel, then stopped a house down. Not as soon as the first boat passed she then jolted right out in front of the second truck like she was in a big damn hurry. Then when she got to my house a few min later, I had my truck in the street by the mailbox unloading it and she just blew right by while I was standing there. The next day some of the mail had a rubber band around it and had blocked written in the envelopes. I’m like I was standing right there. The usps should be clear enough reason to show how efficient our government is.

I am friends with my carrier & she says all the problems are because of the union. Says most office mgr have no real power. And it is the union that Trump is so strongly against. For the first time in history, the union's board has endorsed a candidate...Biden. Which is a violation of the Hatch Act.

Well she’s wrong. I’m sure they don’t make the situation better but the problems are directly stemming from new changes made by the post master.
The newly appointed post master has stock in USPS competition and has donated thousands to Trumps re-election campaign. Trump has been very vocal on his disdain of USPS.

Complete and total elimination of junk mail, sales fliers, sales magazines the waste of paper. I highly doubt your wife would be slammed if the damn magazines and sales fliers were completely eliminated from her daily route.
What would be left to deliver...which was my point in a previous post.

Philosophically, I’m a privatization guy. But the USPS is a bit different. They are essentially the mail industry’s loss leader. They have to service ( on a daily basis) areas, populations and services that Fedex and UPS have no interest in because there would be no profit in it. My business buys about 15k in postage a year, we rely on the USPS, and we are overall very satisfied with them. We deal with them daily and they do solid work and answer our questions. Of all the problems my business has, the USPS is not one of them. Just giving my own personal experience.
I will say that out of all the carriers I've dealt with for business-related stuff, UPS has been the worst, and it is not even close. Issues with them versus the USPS is something like 20-1, and when I do have an issue, they are easier to deal with than most of the others.
