Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution, known as the Postal Clause or the Postal Power, empowers Congress "To establish Post Offices and Post Roads".
thanks. I was on my phone and wasn't about to try and post the links to it.

Guy comes in to deliver boxes we've ordered, our shipment is there by the door and he starts to walk out without getting them. We point them out and he says nothing was scheduled. We show him the confirmation. He gets all pissed, muttering under his breath, being slightly rude. I call the post office to see what the Hell is going on with this crap. End up getting a shitty excuse from the 1st person, then transferred to another person that ends up contradicting the first person.
I'm not going to make a broad statement about ALL mail carriers, but the majority of the ones I have ever interacted with are complete morons.
However, that was mostly in Mobile and Baton Rouge. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
TLDR: Post office don't give a shite. I'm surprised there aren't more reports of shootings there.

Isn't there something in the constitution that says the postal service will always be around/that it's not meant to make money?
No, the constitution empowers congress to establish the postal service. It's not a constitutional right and can be done away with.

Can the US make it without a USPS?

The post office is a complete joke, sent a batch of mail out and was totally surprised how many people said we didn't receive the invite. They are unreliable but every year they want to raise rates.

Most people bitching about the USPS don’t deal with them in large volume. I ship and receive items constantly. It amazes me that for $1.10, you can sent something across the country and have it returned to you in a little over a week.
There’s obviously room for improvement, but on the whole, I think USPS is pretty damn good.

I don't really care either way. I just wish companies would stop sending orders via the USPS. I have an order that was shipped on July 20th which hasn't left the post office yet.

The USPS should be completely overhauled. It’s still being run like it was before fax machines, email, the internet, etc.

My carrier (female) can't tell the difference between my neighbor's mailbox and mine.

I highly doubt your wife would be slammed if the damn magazines and sales fliers were completely eliminated from her daily route.

In their delusion, they view the USPS as an existential threat to Trump's reelection as mail in voting cannot be suppressed through selective gerrymandering. The Republican party used to be a party of principles at one time, but it no longer is the case under Trump.
wow. What a bunch of incoherent horse shite.

I hate that shite. Completely unnecessary. They should be repurposed into a litter abatement corps.

I don’t think about the Post Office.
Posted on 8/4/20 at 6:29 pm to CatsGoneWild
I hate to tell you but sooner rather than later the Post Office will go the way of the VHS, politics may be involved but it’s only a matter of time before people don’t need snail mail and only wait on package deliveries. As long as technology keeps advancing its going to happen.
