I bought a house a few years ago that was built in 1980. It has an O’Keefe and Merritt oven in it that was manufactured then, and it still works perfectly, other than the clock.

“Our oven in our kitchen is from 1975. Still works like a tank. I refuse to replace it

I do need to paint it “

Had that when I bough my house .. you can take the front panel off and leave the door and exposed insulation.. you can or you can have a professional paint it with high temp ceramic paint.. was not expensive and jus a few screws to take off.. the oven door stayed on so you could still use the oven.
Mine was 70s green

I like old appliances. Simple and less crap to break. I don't need wifi on a dryer.

If they invent a time machine, I am getting in it and going back to find the first engineer who decided to put a computer board in a refrigerator. Then I am going to kick him square in the nuts. Refigerators without computers last forever.

Up at the Alabama house, an 18 year old Bosch dishwasher. Has exactly 4 buttons on it including the on/off button. Works great. May be the quietest dishwasher I've ever had, too.

We've got a washer and dryer left by the previous owner of the house that is probably 15-20 years old. Still works fine so we have no reason to replace them yet.

we have a westinghouse freezer from the 1950s in my parent's utility room that just won't quit.

eta looks like this one but ours is in even better shape and my brother informed me its actually from the late 1940s

it has this really cool index-card filing system on the outside of the door but i can't find a good photo online.

My wife made me get rid of our 1983 dishwasher. They thing was white and didn't match the baller stainless stuff she had bought. Plus, the damn thing sounded like a helicopter was landing in the yard. With that said, the thing was a freaking sandblaster and cleaned everything you could throw at it.

We replaced it with some stainless POS. I have to run it twice to clean even the simplest things. I hate it and remind my wife about the awesome one she made me throw away every time we do the dishes.

Yes, I'm still mad about it.

I have a GE dishwasher manufactured in 1988. No buttons at all. It has a dial that you turn slightly until the machine kicks on and a two way switch that adjusts to heated drying or energy saver. Simple as hell and cleans better than any other dishwasher that I’ve ever had.

We just threw out a deep freezer my mom got as a wedding present in 1970. It was still working but she lost power and some shrimp thawed and the juice got in the insulation in the bottom and there was no way to get the smell out.

Same reason when we bought my son his first truck, we got a 1500 with a stick shift, non-electric locks and windows. Nothing to break. Now it's the family farm truck and still going strong.

Maytag W/D that was in the last house. This is the same models I bought before my son was born in 1989.

When I moved south I brought them along. Still work perfectly.

Kenmore refrigerator/ freezer bought in 2000.Last time I tried to change the filter something broke and water started running everywhere.
I turned off the water and started using ice trays which we empty in ice dispenser which still works.
Also Kenmore stove still works fine,
