The IRS rejected it the first time.
Damn, I have no idea if we are really married. We filled out a license ; a judge signed it and we never went to a wedding.

The tax lady worked the numbers and I would have paid in the same amount I was going to get a refund of. :wtf: :wtf:
So I went and found him and hauled his arse down to the office. He talked to the IRS person and he had never signed up for it and never paid anything and that was a policy that he supposedly had the first part of 2024.
So, evidently, they do sign up people for it. The tax lady said they signed her niece up and she had a hard time cancelling.

I just moved here from up in the snow and cold 3 years ago. Bought a house (paid cash) and needed a little help to get it to be what I wanted.

No, I kicked him out last July. The companionship was good for a short time then he turned into the albatross around my neck.

That explains it. He has not worked for many years and couch surfs.

I got my taxes done yesterday and they rejected it b/c they say my "husband" is on it. I had not seen him for months and have gotten no mail for him at my house.
