I've always really liked this style of home.

Is that sort of an Acadian McMansion? Serious question.

If I had frick you money I'd have a Mediterranean home or the one like the guy in Ex Machina.

Not really the point of the thread. I mean, if money isn't an object, I'll take the Biltmore. But again, that wasn't really what I was intending to go for.

The plush modern eco-lodge style?

Because I'm into that I just have no idea what to call it. Reminds me of high end hotels I've looked at in Africa and Patagonia

Tasteful mediterraneans are elite

Unfortunately, for every good one there are 5 awful gaudy ones that stand out in a bad way

Totally agree. Even searching for those pics I posted, I had to wade through a bunch of awful McMediterraneans

those are fricking horrible. as is 99% of mediterranean style.

now some victorian features are fine but they have to be mixed tastefully imo

I prefer a New Orleans style or any type of nice Bungalow/Creole Cottage that has an expansive front porch similar to the one in the OP.

I am a fan of the craftsman style. Attention to details, emphasis on natural materials and light without being overly ornate.

I hate Victorians, although they are classical and I can't blame anyone who loves them. They just do not appeal to me.

I feel bad for good craftsman homes, because the revival craftsman garbage has kinda ruined it for me

Craftsman. The old early 1900s craftsman homes in Pasadena are spectacular.

I agree. I also really like the craftsman, bungalow style. They are also inviting, and typically have great use of outdoor space (porches). I don't really notice too many in Louisiana, but you see a lot of cool ones in California and the Pacific Northwest.

Aesthetically pleasing, but very little flexibility and apparently a bitch to maintain.

His style worked a lot better when he moved to the desert as opposed to wetter climates.

I love a good craftsman, Victorian, and a well done Acadian style house.

Acadian Homes are timeless. I live in a similar house as in the picture. It's 120 years old and about 75% restored.

I have been watching a lot of Restored on Discovery+ I have always liked Victorians, and still do, as well as New Orleans Italianate and Greek Revival; but lately due to the tv show, and paying attention, I am really digging the Craftsman style, as well.
