Yeah, I consider myself fairly fortunate and have a high paying job, but not a great credit score. I don’t carry any debt, pay off credit cards every month, mostly with a direct draw from the bank. Had a wake up call when I bought my girl a car for College and was a little taken back as My credit score wasn’t that high, don’t remember the number, but expected it to up at the top considering I did the right things and had tremendous savings and no debt. Yeah, that ain’t how credit scores work, evidently….

It varies from month to month, but the balance at the end of the month is always the same. I let the poors that pay interest on cc debt subsidize my free miles and points.

Mortgage, vehicles, all paid for. Pay off CC every month. Zero debt is where I aim to stay.

I pay it off every month on auto pay, so doesn’t really matter what my balance is at any time - it’s all money I spent (though I check for fraudulent charges). The OP makes this sound like recurring balances aka credit card debt, which is trashy AF

It’s a stupid system, it’s not about doing the right things completely, there’s a component about how profitable you are to lenders while still being low risk

All from the poorest state in the country, lol
Is $5k-$10k a month in expenses for a household really that much?
I mean my wife and I don't spend that much but it's just the two of us. I'm in my 30s, I have no mortgage or car note history, just student loans and like 5 credit cards that I always have a long history with and have always paid on time. That gets me an 800 credit score and I'm no baller whatsoever. You don't need to have a bunch of money to have a good credit score, you just have to have enough money and some responsibility.

Same as every month for the last 20 years. I’ve built houses on credit cards and I’ve never paid a dime of interest. I haven’t used a personal debit card in over 10 years. Get points, get rewards, pay it off end of each month and you can pretty much travel for free year in year out. You just need the means and responsibility.

That is my personal debt friend. That said the wife does travel for work occasionally and puts stuff on there. Don’t worry, I often ask WTF are we buying.

Same well except for the mortgage which I am working on I should have my home paid off in 2 years. I have seen debt ruin a family member and I was on that path for a minute. The most I had on my CC at one time was 15K and 3K on another one on a SPC salary in the Army. I cut out excess spending, paid them off ,and only use them as I do now. For a few minor bills that gets paid off monthly, if I am traveling, or for emergencies. I have enough in my savings account to cover the card if it gets maxed out. It is seriously not worth it to get into CC debt especially at a young age. I stupidly fell into that trap ,but was able to recover before I could not. We have an I want it now society and that is why many kids get in financial trouble.

Goes back to zero every month.
Gas, groceries, some household items are on a card & paid monthly.

Personally maybe $300 I don't use credit except for travel for personal.
Business credit I use for a lot. But pay off the next month.
That could get up to 4-5k just in parts.
Though when I was in my early 20s I racked up a huge debt and defaulted but paid it all off rather than bankrupt. Which was the wrong choice.
Took into my mid thirties to get above 700 credit.

I would like to ask anyone who is able to put their mortgage on their card, who are you with? Mine got sold to nationstar/mr copper and I am unable to use any card, it has to be a draft or check from an account.
You could try Plastiq. I know you can rent with it. They send a check.

$0 by the 26th of every month. This method has never failed.
