Not sure if this counts but HWY 290 to Beltway 8 ramp in Houston. It is two lanes until you turn North or South then down to one lane for a stretch. Hard to complain about it since Texas is constantly making improvements to it's roads and highways.

There is still a Washington St. This was East Washington St.

Trying to figure out if you are mad about the exit or the name or the sign or because someone black did something that you don't like. Move on with your life.

If you want to talk about the exit, it simply needs to be closed or moved to the center like they did with Terrace. The biggest issue with this area is the on-ramp. There are four or five schools that all hit the interstate here. There are at least 250 parents that pick up every day at McKinley Middle. They all hit the interstate at the same time 2:25-2:50, along with carpool and students from McKinley High. Not long after that, University Terrace, Buchanan, and McKinley Elementary hit that on-ramp.

If only they just spend millions of dollars to create a brand new exit at Louise St to give drivers the option to exit without having to merge onto Washington....

I don't give a shite about the lady being black. I don't give a shite about them naming a road after her.

I would have the same gripe if they named it after Honkey McCrackerson.

They renamed the road and kept the exit name, so you exit for a road that doesn't exist.

Why is everything race with you?

Once you're halfway over the bridge, hit that far right lane, all the way down to the Washington st exit, passing everyone at a standstill. Merge over at the last second before you end up in the Hood. Not that hard.

Oh look, it's the reason for the backup arriving to show us all why Louisiana is a piece of garbage state—its people

The thing that pisses me off about it is they created that new exit so they could close it then they didn't close it.

No, it's not the fact that it's placement makes it a death trap for jackwagons trying to exit there after merging off I-110.

And if you manage to get thru it and off it, you’ve exited into another deathtrap.

Been a few year and not sure if it still only 1 lane but I-55 N in Memphis right before you cross the Mississippi River into Arkansas was one lane cloverleaf ramp, insane.

You're triggered at the name change?, or the fact the sign hasn't been updated to the new name? I'm not following

Can anyone name a single other location in the country where a major interstate drops down to one lane?

Yes... in San Antonio, when I-10 goes from the northwest dual alignment with I-35 to going east at the US90 interchange. The ramp for I-10 travelers going from El Paso to Houston is only 1 lane.

Also, when I was driving to Omaha, I-35 went down to one lane twice and I-70 once in downtown Kansas City. Traffic wasn't backed up, but speed limit was 40 or 45 on those 1950s designed freeways.

I'm annoyed that they haphazardly did it, like everything else that gets done.

Change a street name? Whatever. Sure, knock yourself out.
What moron made the choice to change a street with an interstate exit attached to it though? And then only half arse it?

Your tax dollars at work

i have seen countless people pass up the Terrace Street exit and cross two lanes of traffic just to get to the Washington street exit.

why not put a divider wall that extends past the Washington street exit that will prevent anyone from I110 getting to Washington Street exit? However, I would prefer that the exit gets closed entirely.

Why not close the Washington Street exit and make two dedicated lanes coming from the bridge. Make I110 merge down to one lane. There is vastly more traffic crossing the bridge than coming from I110/downtown? But doing that will hurt all the state workers getting home from work!

I've been amazed my whole life that the US Government hasn't stepped in and said "BR and Louisiana you are inept, we are taking over and widening a choke point between two of our most populous states, and emergency evacuation route"

It's an rather astonishing failure on a City, State, and Federal level, that this storyline took so long to address properly.

Dang it. I was going to guess what pisses you off most is that you still ended up in BR.
