Oh look, it's the reason for the backup arriving to show us all why Louisiana is a piece of garbage state—its people

Traveling in one of the two lanes leading to the merge is not the reason for the backup. IF anything, it alleviates the backup

Well this shows you have no idea what you're talking about whatsoever.

The back up is largely due to the fact that those on the inside lane are too scared to merge onto the interstate at a proper speed. Coming to a slow crawl is not how you do it..
Also, the fact that there's only 1 lane to continue on i10 right there is the main reason.

If you can't drive, just say that

I thought they were pretty much replacing this with the new Terrace Ave exit?

Yet somehow, I still see idiots trying to cut across two lanes of traffic to exit right on Washington street.

This blows my mind that anyone thought this was a good design. Why you need an exit for Nicholson and Washington street so close to each other is stupid.

I guess LADOTD sucked back in the 1960s when they built this.

I've often wondered what would happen if someone went all Killdozer on the ramp and did enough damage that it was effectively unusable.

Kind of took the bureaucracy out of the equation.

Would things finally move forward and the exit be able to be abandoned because the decision had been taken out of their hands?
or would they somehow shift from a glacial pace to a jackrabbit's to fix the crappy, troublesome and now misnamed exit?

Looked through the I-10 widening layout plans.

Unless something has changed, it's going to be physically impossible to exit Washington/Dalrymple from I-110. That traffic is going to be funneled through the new Terrace avenue exit.

This should’ve been fixed twenty years ago. It won’t get fixed in the next twenty.

I'm pretty sure Obama said he would get it taken care of when he came down after his buddy JBE got elected 8 years

Edit: yep

Good thing Baton Rouge has three loops to get around our one-lane bottleneck just like S.A. (37/35/90 ring around downtown, 410, and 1604)

That exit drops you right on Fig St in Fruit Town… You can’t fight the special interests.

The name Washington offends us, so we need to shut this exit down as it lets racist white slave owners a pathway into and out of this peaceful part of South Baton Rouge

See, they just changed a random number Street for Eddie Robinson.

Same with Thomas Delpit.

Why not change a random state street instead. None of those are exits.

It's not the exit. It's the fact that the interstate goes to 1 lane there. If it stayed two lanes and the median between 110 and 10 is extended it is a moot issue.

Which can't happen unless they close the exit to a road that doesn't even exist anymore.

Should never have been built.
