Who somehow has the boss hoodwinked to think he's doing a good job? Everyone else can see through it except for the one person who matters.

Every corporate setting has the nice guy that gets along with everyone and goes out of his way to help people with non work related things, but completely sucks at his job and never produces anything. Thats the guy that has a stress free 30-40 year career.

I worked for the 2000 census and I was an idiot.
LSU was offering internship in my major for zero.
Back in 99 the census bureau offered us $12/hour to do questionnaires at a different school.
I opted for the paying internship. I just needed to clear it with my academic advisor and dept head that what was doing, pertained to my major. Somehow they agreed.
I think they just wanted me out of there.

Work with plenty of them… I’m in construction , more than half the superintendents, project managers, etc. have bullshitted and kissed arse to get the position they hold…

Once worked at a place where the CEO assembled a core of the stupidest people I've ever encountered in a workplace, and I believe on purpose.
They were useful idiots, total bootlicking pushover that followed her every directive without question and were fiercely loyal to her.
She at times showed a complete inability to handle or confront friction in the workplace because she became so unaccustomed to it.
All that to say... sometimes there is a reason the boss keeps that moron around

I’ve had a few idiot co workers over the years. They usually eventually get fired. The ones that are really good at their job usually get promoted.

It was a lady. Had already failed upward into a position and they had to demote her because it was such a disaster. Boss would come to us and ask if we could work on a project. We would ask, who worked on it before. If he said her name, everyone was NOPE!
She had the VP fooled. Like a normal person, I would come in early about 6:30 to 7:00 and work until about 4:30. That is more than a full day. A lot of folks did. But the big VP that ran the whole operation we were in thought we were slackers because he would see us all leaving before 5:00. He would see that Lady there working at 6:00-6:30 and stop and talk with her and brag to everyone else about how she was always staying and getting it done. But the bitch didn't roll into work until between 11:00 and 1:00. So, she was really slacking compared to us, but VP was also too clueless to notice this. There were constant complaints coming from the field because they would need to reach her in the morning and could not.
The VP gave her an award. Was the highest employee recognition award. When he was talking about her in front of everyone, most people could not stop from laughing. What a joke. Someone from a competitor company called me to talk about possibly interviewing for a job with them. As we talked we talked about people we knew. Found out that VP was now working for them. Told him thanks but no thanks.

About 25% of my work week is working for myself. So yes I work with a consensus complete idiot and no my ‘boss’ isn’t hoodwinked
