It's a popular song topic, from Supertramp to Bruce to Beethoven.

I sometimes think about packing a bag, my tent, and some other essentials, going to Kauai, finding a secret beach somewhere, and just living the simple life, spearfishing and catching wild chickens for food.

I think more people than are willing to admit think about this.

I have remained faithful to my marital vows for 51 years. No other woman.....only the woman I love. Was it all smooth sailing? Of course not. But when I said those magic words "I do" all those years ago I fully intended to remain faithful to my vows....and I have. How did I do it you ask? With God all things are possible.

Go the Church and worship God with your friends and neighbors. Then do the best you can. Forgive and tell your spouse you love her/him often. This is not rocket science here folks. Simple.

I considered it before. Not because I hate my life but just wondered how I would fare trying new places, new career, new people.

Then I thought about all the weirdos I’ve seen while traveling. And the fact my dress style and way of life is wayyyyy different than most of the country. I likely wouldn’t do too well as far as fitting in. Us delta folk have our unique ways and style where you can pick us out anywhere else in the country.

I did something similar to this.

I was miserable with my life so I made drastic changes, now I'm happy and rebuilding.

The greater the risk the greater the reward.

Picked up moved to California with to stay with my father while in High School.
My mother said if I raised enough money to travel to California to stay with my father she would left me go.
Cut lawns for a year and saved enough to buy a Datsun truck, have gas money, and had a few bucks for food.
Drove my Datsun truck to California, slept in parking lot of a gas station in Arizona and moved on to my father's house.
I made new friends, enjoyed surfing, liked nice weather, and decided to stay to raise a family there.

When my kids moved out I decided to move back to Louisiana to spend time with some of my family members who live here.

Tomorrow I may get up and want to move to xyz.
At this point in my life it is like being a teenager except with money I might go.

If you want to start a new life find out what you want out of life and go for it.

Nope. I've put a lot of work into building this life that my wife and I share. A life without her in it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. I've always had a bit of wanderlust but that need is met because we travel a fair amount and try not to hit the same place twice. You don't have to burn something to the ground to find adventure.
