I got lectured by my sisters drunk mother in law for not being married at 30 and that I should just settle for trying to find the least damaged person and settling for them.

You should have proposed to her after saying "personally I prefer damaged goods."

Damn dude I’ve been in your shoes with my ex wife. My ex in-laws would want us to come to their house every Friday night for supper and then watch a movie and every Sunday afternoon for lunch. I finally told her that I would only be going over once a month for food.

Yes it was me. But this year is the small family get together.

No wild stories this year but I am sure they will all Tee it up for me next time around.

I am thankful for the calmness.

I feel like the story did involve a stripper. Dragonmaster probably doesn’t want to relive the story, but I would like a cliff notes refresher.

It absolutely involved a stripper and a lot of drama. Someone can link it. They already did in another thread yesterday. I need to go back and relive it anyway. Makes me more thankful for the quiet.

Kinda? I’m very strong willed and if I’m not naturally step in step with them, we are going to be miserable.

even if you genuinely like in-laws.. When it isn't your own close family, it sometimes feels like a performance. You have to behave as you would to a client or coworker or something.. overly polite, talkative, smile glued to your face, etc.

I've heard this sentiment before, but I genuinely can't relate. I always hear how people hate their in-laws. But I've never had that experience.

I'm a very family-oriented person. For me, there's no such thing as spending too much time around family. I view my in-laws the same way. Even though it's only been 5 years, I'm as close to my in-laws as I am my own blood family.

Thanks man, I couldn't quit laughing. Even though there has been seven marriages between me and my two brothers we look pretty sane compared to some of these families.

Girlfriend is with her massive (both fat and numerous) family in rural Kansas. True to my username, I’m chilling at home with the dog and watching shitty movies.

I'm sitting on the toilet, drinking a mimosa and just finished reading dragonmasters Thanksgiving from last year.

Life is good.

My wife's mom is a Jehova Witness and I invited her over today just to hangout. Lol. I just decorated the entire house in Thanksgiving shite, put up a Christmas tree and bought a shite ton of food. Her reaction will be priceless.
