re: WWTOTD? My spouse’s previous bridesmaid didn’t make my spouse her bridesmaid.

Yes nurse, I’m sure there are 100s of reasons why she wasn’t invited to be in the party. Doesn’t change the fact that her feelings were still hurt, and the selfish person I am doesn’t want to go to the wedding because I don’t care

It's ok for your wife's feelings to be a little hurt, but I wouldn't skip the wedding because of it. That will look bad, and if its a true friend you'll want to be there for the big day.
Maybe the groom doesn't have a lot of people he wants as groomsman, so that is limiting the number of bridesmaids. I'm totally cool with uneven parties, but I know a lot of people want the same number of people in each party.

That's petty.

My advice:
1) Feel your feelings. Even cry in public if you must.
2) Take to social media and as many forum boards as you can. Strangers are always the best people to go to for personal advice
3) Be proud of the fact that your husband has transitioned so effortlessly.
4) Go to the wedding, but make sure both you and your husband/wife are rocking your dresses in a way that blows away those bitch bridesmaids and will make that bridezilla think twice before she puts the most important day of her life before your precious feelings. Show her!

You sound like a pussy. This shouldn't bother you at all.
If you insist on being a petty bitch, think of this...fourteen hours awat. The bride is doing y'all a favor rather than obligating you to go. If you've got the time and the interest to go, go happily.

You sound like a bitch. If your wife is even half as high-maintenance as you it's no wonder they don't want her in the wedding.

Exactly.
Just because you had someone in your wedding does not mean they have to have you. There is no trade or contract filled out. I’m overly sensitive so I understand feelings getting hurt, but to completely skip a wedding because you aren’t in it is one of the most childish things I’ve ever heard of.
I had a tiny wedding. I had no bridesmaids. Should everybody who had me in their wedding have skipped?

Big weddings are always shite shows. You cannot please everyone. You and wife are a perfect example.
Don't get butthurt over stupid shite like wedding parties.

Tell my wife what a bitch the bride is for not reciprocating, but really

If it was the maid of honor, that may be one thing. But I had 9 groomsmen. Hell one didn't even invite me to his wedding because it was small and like 5 years later, I don't really GAF.
But my point is some only have 2-3 groomsmen/ bridesmaids or less. So I'm not really sure why it matters.
Hell, why doesn't your wife talk to her about it? Aren't they supposed to be friends? Clearly they aren't that close if she doesn't know the reason why.
And yeah, it's petty as hell to not attend the wedding. Maybe that's part of the reason she wasn't asked.

One benefit of gay marriage has been all the jokes about "...your husband..."

Just because your wife was a bridesmaid means she's obligated to be one. What is she's been a bridesmaid in like 15 fricking weddings? What if she wants to keep it down to 5 bridesmaids? The only thing she's obligated to do is an invite to the wedding, and that's it.

You think logic is involved with feelings? As old as civilization is, people will always feel a certain way before they digest the information.

Maybe she has more friends than your wife.. or maybe she has made some great friends once moving or somehow getting 14 hours away from your wife.
Also, my wife doesn't talk to most of her bridesmaids from her own wedding now 9 years later. People move, some people get families and kids while others stay single and mingling... My wife's best friends today weren't even people she knew 9 years ago.
and more important...
IT'S NOT HER frickING WEDDING. GROW THE HELL UP.

I've been in weddings for people who weren't even invited to my wedding
Things change, people move on, circumstances differ
I highly doubt any of them were offended, if they took notice at all

Be happy you don't have to deal with that BS. Congrats!

Is your wife not that attractive or maybe overweight? Many brides don't want an out of shape sloppy to be all up in their wedding pictures.
Usually from what I have seen; ugly or not so attractive woman may think they are BFF's with an attractive girl but in reality most pretty girls only like to hang around other pretty girls.
