the wedding isn’t about your wife. Y’all go to the wedding and be happy for the girl.

But to answer your question, because my wife is hurt by it
Has your wife spoken to the bride? Did the bride talk to her about not being in the wedding party or did your wife find out through the grapevine? Again, relationships change and perhaps the bride truly is trying to be considerate from the obligation/financial obligation standpoint.

Sounds like no one likes your wife.

Well your wife should get over it.
Maybe the chick has more female relatives that she feels obligated to make part of the wedding party? Maybe she wants a very small bridal party? Maybe the friendship just isn’t as close as it was?
Just because you have someone in your wedding...doesn’t mean you HAVE to be in their wedding.
Both of you sound immature af.

My spouse was invited to the wedding (14 hours away) but not made a bridesmaid even though the same girl was my wife’s bridesmaid. I told my wife to not even show up. Is that a solid response? I’ve never not been a groomsman for the groomsman in my wedding party.

WWTOTD?
Hand in my man card for even giving this a thought?

I know a young bride who will have like 12 or so bridesmaids because her husband "had to have" that many groomsmen as he'd been in their weddings.
Insane.

Sure, of course. Doesn’t eliminate the fact that my wife was hurt by it and the first thing that came to my mind was if you are hurt, don’t go. It’s during football season. I don’t care if she goes or not

Wow. In 2 pages of garbage there is finally a well thought out response. I appreciate it
You should change the thread title - instead of asking what the OT would do, ask if the OT will affirm your already-decided and ill-advised course of action.

If she’s so petty that both her and her husband are upset over her not being a bridesmaid this is probably 100% accurate.

This is fricking stupid. You must be very young if this is what you choose to worry about.
It has nothing to do with being young, I'm young. It has everything to do with being a petulent little bitch.

I like her

I offered several questions for you or rather your wife to consider. I can understand her initial reaction as hurt but she really should think this through. Maybe she'll still be hurt but she may very well say "oh I didn't look at it that way".

The correct answer is to stay out of your wife’s petty bullshite.
Let her manage her own friends.
As for the actual issue, your wife should be glad she doesn’t have to buy a bridesmaid’s dress and be obligated to participate in pre-wedding activities 14 hours away. The bride is giving her a break. Don’t make it more than it is.

Sounds like the other girl made a good decision not including your wife in the wedding party. She probably already knew how petty y'all are.

Nah. Pages full of “low-T” and my wife being petty for feeling how she feels isn’t well thought out. People get their feelings hurt.

If this is the shite that upsets your wife, I think the bride is dodging a bullet by y’all boycotting, honestly.

After being in a few wedding parties, I’d be so happy to be passed up.
I would rather attend the bachelorette party and have no responsibilities at the wedding.
