I can certainly see how living on the Westbank could create disdain for the New Orleans metro.

"Having a better time in Houma" says infinitely more about you and what you like to do than it is an indictment of New Orleans.

Zillow 70118 and you'll see more $700k+ houses than 250k+ houses.

The crime sucks here but real estate prices are not dropping.

If the crime rate doesn't get better, that housing bubble will burst because its going to get harder and harder to find buyers willing to pony up that kind of money to live in an area with a big crime problem.

So going to Saints/Pelicans games plus doing stuff outdoors is indicative/confirmation of what?

I like to do a lot of things?

Soon, people are gonna be sucking dick for cigarettes.

Or a viable solution is to get a set of knee pads and work the bus station and train station restrooms to suck dicks for cash. No need to chase down dick, they will be hanging out the same place as you.

all my family lives in New Orleans. my parents, who i don't have much of a relationship with, live in Winston-Salem.

guess how often i look into what the crime rate or governmental problems of Winston-Salem are.

if your family is still living here, they must not be too concerned so relax and enjoy Dallas.

Why would anyone want to stay in NOLA? You have a terrible PD, a mayor who cares more about taking down statues, high violent crime rate, terrible public schools, the list goes on.

I love NOLA, but something's gotta give.

Everything else around it sucks. Texas is blah. The rest of Louisiana is boring. Mississippi...no. No one with money is moving away.

yeah, chicago crime is extremely limited to very distinct areas with not a lot of bleedover. Those areas are REALLY bad, but it doesn't really leave them, and they aren't near where a tourist would be or one of us would live.

I have never ever felt unsafe in the city and I have lived here for two decades

This is just bullshite and you know it is.

And on a minuscule chance that it is the truth, then you actively avoid large swaths of the city and hours in the day, which then removes the top reasons to live in New Orleans.

They should tell everyone who wants out to leave, once out build a wall around that shite stain like a prison and let the roaches eat themselves to death.

Simple Solution
