Computer trespass is the only crime where the NOPD woukd have jurisdiction to investigate. I find it likely to be your scenario because we have heard nothing about a suspension or firing of any other employee.

Effectively. I can’t see how anything other than a hoax or someone hacking the Twitter account would be law enforcement’s concern.

Dunlap’s hurt feelings don’t rise to be level of a criminal hate crime.

Put it this way, if that is a hate crime then we have 100,000 cases of hate crime on this site. If not more...

WWL Radio officials believe the homophobic slur tweeted out from the station’s official account to talk show host Seth Dunlap earlier this month was sent from Dunlap’s personal cellphone, according to a New Orleans Police Department report.

The station also has accused Dunlap, who is 35 and openly gay, of threatening the station that he would go “scorched earth” over the tweet and demanding more than $1.8 million in compensation while he was also facing personal financial troubles, said the police report, which was obtained Thursday through a public records request.

The report released Thursday notes surveillance footage showed Dunlap was in his office with the door closed at the time the tweet was sent. He opened the door soon after its publication and then walked out to show his cellphone to a co-worker, “apparently talking about the tweet.”

Yikes.

That means someone else didn't do it when he left his phone unattended.
