That cost of living though....

I'm in Minnesota right now for work and hell no, I'd never move away from Texas.

I like it here. Wouldn't want to leave.

from NOLA, lived in Detroit after Katrina, and went to grad school in Georgia.
Would never leave the south again.

Fishing I agree with you on, but I'd say Hawaii is definitely tops when it comes to fishing. Although that may be an unfair comparison
depends on what kind of fishing you like.
Salmon fishing is fricking amazing in Alaska.
And if you go offshore, you can go troll for King Salmon and also catch Halibut that average the size of a doormat flounder in Louisiana
Outside of Louisiana, Alaska is the number one state in fisheries. Food for thought.

You are correct but they will not be prepared in the proper Louisiana way.

That's because your only experience outside of the south is in Detroit

I think moving away from home makes you grow as a person. You can always move back if it's just not for you, but at least go out and experience the world. Too many people don't.
I live in the MW and like it well enough, but want to go out west in the next few years. I really don't see myself leaving there once I make it. I've felt drawn that way for years and I feel weirdly at home when visiting

I headed west 17 years ago and only go back to Louisiana once a year to see family and attend LSU and Saints games.
Even during my yearly visits, my heart is still out west. This is where I was meant to be.

Might consider the west

you've never lived outside of louisiana, so how would you even know
currently living in NYC and moving back south in a few months. i've really enjoyed it up here, far more than i thought i would.

Left for an 8 week assignment 6-7 years ago and have only visited twice since then. I don't miss it ( except for the gulf-still the greatest beaches I've seen) but never say never. If a relative fell ill or a family need is great enough I would return....otherwise I am happier out west.

Seattle? Who the hell would want to live in that shitshow of a city? Fast food people getting $15 an hour is dumb. Btw, I've always lived in Louisiana and I'm fine if I'm here the rest of my life. I can visit places if I get the urge

I can get Louisiana crawfish shipped to me for $5.50/lb with no shipping cost. And I can prepare them the proper Louisiana way. Next argument.

I order crawfish from LA all the time.

You sure can, thanks for reinforcing my original point.
