Yes, definitely.

Right now I see no advantages to owning an ev over a standard car.
I don't care about saving the environment so that's not a reason for me. I care about convenience and practicality.

Maybe one day but not right now. Too expensive and not efficient enough for my needs

Not in my current situation.
My daily commute would tax the car heavily and I have to make two monthly trips which would be hard if not impossible in a full electric car due to range.
If, say, I lived in the city and only needed the electric car for day to day errands, it would be feasible.

Not until price and performance match that of the 3/4 ton I need for my business or one can perform the same as my Jeep on a trail.
Also, I've said it 1000. times but hybrid >>>>> all electric. I'm not sure why that isn't the path that was pushed.

i'm a simple guy. if said car cost me about 12k more than normal car and i have to install a $1000 charger on my house all to save 2k a year maybe all to have a car that is pretty close to worthless around the 10 year mark is not a good business model to me.

I have no desire to own one. Maybe there will be a day when the are better than gas vehicles in every way and comparably priced but otherwise no thanks.

I would for my wife (no pics) to scoot around town in, we use my truck for road trips anyway.

No but manufacturers are ramping up production quickly but it's not being reported by the MSM. There may not be many alternatives in a few years depending on how fast a charging network can be established.

Definitely not any time soon. We don't even have a gas burner car right now because it would only meet some of our needs and not be of use all the time. In other words, having a car would make it another entirely extra vehicle.

If I had the money and I had a small car collection, sure.. But call me old school... I like good ole gasoline.

short answer, yes. However, wife (sorry, no pics) drives a van. The closest equivalent I've seen is a Tesla Y, which cost $90,000. That van cost us $30,000. I need prices to come way down before considering.

the problem I see with this is in cities, lots of people live in apartments or multi unit dwellings where they might not have a spot for a charger.
Apartment developments are adding them at a ratio of 1 charging spot per 10 parking spots now.

Yes.
Just not enough options and there are too many compromises with the recharging flexibility and speed right now. But that is slowly changing.

Maybe, as a commuter car.
I'm very concerned about battery replacement, as the metals used in them become in greater demand.

Nope. Grid isn’t sustainable and the government has already tried implementing a social score apparatus. Not gonna let them dictate when and where I can go.

Probably enough for now, but they'll need to probably get to 1:4 at some point. Assuming everyone eventually gets an EV. Most of them will need to charge at least once per week. And they'll probably need to look at solar panels to really set that up the right way.
But there will always be that jerk that parks in front of it and charges it every night.

Yes. Not for environmental concerns but because a Teslas performance off the line is pretty amazing.

True. Until there's a battery chemistry breakthrough that significantly improves current limitations of run-time, recharge rate / charging station availability, and battery life span / replacement cost, this is the logical engineering bridge to all electric.
I'd consider all electric for a city car, but they're not presently feasible living in the boondocks, or for long commutes.

Yeah probably next car purchase is an EV. There is the infrastructure around here too. I just need a daily driver on hybrid work schedule . Any long trips we take the wife’s crossover.
