One of my cousins had one a mid 70's model.
Drive it like ya stole it and they were fun little cars.

Paint it black, put the top down, and enjoy a leisurely drive amongst the people …

Yes, I drove one in the 60's
It was like huntin doves over a baited field for hippie chicks back then.
Times have changed tho, seems they have added 2 zero's since.

Uphill or downhill?
I drove a couple of those at a job I had delivering newspapers. They were great little delivery vehicles and fun to drive, but not fast, nor did the heater amount to much in the winter.

I'd drive it. I've always wanted to build a sleeper bug. This guy built a monster. 517 HP Sleeper Bug
Side note- the host is a little annoying, but I think she's hot and an accomplished driver.

Single or double port? Manual or the rare autostick?

The fake knock offs are ironic for sure.
How cool would actual knock offs be?

IDK, but it’s effectively right in front of my house. She said manual…what’s a double port?
ETA: looks completely original

In this day and age, the average car thief would be frustrated by it due to standard transmission plus the fact you had to push down on the gear shift in order for it to go into reverse.

Sure I’d drive. Had a hardtop bug at one time. Where is this bug located?

I sure wouldn't want to.
And no.
And no.
