Last year, Acura's dramatic announcement that the celebrated Integra nameplate would be making a return in 2022 set the automotive world abuzz. Like Kim being asked about Kanye (or vice-versa), the automaker was bombarded with questions about the modern-day version of its entry-level phenom and, as of this month, the details were finally laid out and you can now order a 2023 Acura Integra of your own. Speaking of—a surprise has sprung forth from those reservations that have already begun flowing in...

As of March 10, Acura's Integra pre-order program has been underway and, according to Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President of Acura sales, the reception has been exceptional. "We are absolutely thrilled with the pre-launch response to the 2023 Integra. The total number of reservations has far exceeded our expectations and most exciting is that around 70 percent of Integra reservations are for the 6-speed manual. We're confident this new Integra will inspire a new generation of enthusiasts buyers for the Acura brand."

Hold up—seventy percent of pre-orders so far are for the stick-shift model? More surprising is that the manual is available only on the top-dog A-Spec trim level.

Power comes from a turbocharged Honda 4 cylinder with at least 200 horsepower - which is plenty for a sports sedan this size.

Should start at around $30,000 for the entry level models; but the 6 speed A spec versions will probably be closer to $40,000.

If it's not a Type-R, it's not a tight car

The Acura Integra was their most famous brand- building car, right? So if they are rolling it back out, and it’s as good as the old one and updated for 2023, it’s going to sell great. I’ve looked at it and seen the videos and it looks like a really fun car to drive.

Another new model vehicle that has that ugly arse screen not flowing with the dash.

Looks great! My only gripe is the auto is going to have a CVT.

it looks super plasticy and the back looks like a mid tier Honda.

Need a pic of the side profile which looks promising, but I'd say probs a no from me.

Lexus IS is way cooler looking IMO for only 15% to 20% more

I would absolutely drive that. I see a clutch pedal. I love driving a stick.

I don’t think this Integra is intended to compete directly with the IS in an apples to apples way; that’s more the Acura TLX which sits directly between the IS and ES sedans from Lexus, since Lexus has moved both up a bit when they eliminated the GS.

ETA: if this starts around $30K, the IS starts at just under $40k, so that’s a 33% premium for the Lexus.

Recently bought my kid a new Civic touring. I’d consider one of these after being in that car. It’s expensive for a civic but a really nice car. I’d buy over a base German all day long.

Civic SI is a great car and a great value. Everybody doesn’t have 60-80 k to spend on a car and everybody doesn’t have a psychological need to flex via their freakin car.

Kinda disappointed. When I heard they were bringing back the Integra, was hoping it would've been something a little more sporty like the old Integra-RSX models.

quote:

Power comes from a turbocharged Honda 4 cylinder with at least 200 horsepower - which is plenty for a sports sedan this size.

They had 200 HP in the RSX-S 20 years ago running naturally aspirated. Another disappointment.

I don't know why they think its surprising that Acura is only putting manual transmissions on the performance model. People who buy vehicles with manual transmissions tend to be the same people who enjoy higher performance vehicles. Smart move on Honda's part instead of creating an extra motor/transmission combination on lower trim levels that probably wouldn't sell all that well.
