Parking is $20 this year for the games, unless you park across the bayou. The campus is very pretty but Malone stadium is outdated

As has been stated, the Beidenharn museum and gardens and the Chennault museum are probably the two best attractions.

Skip the zoo. Haven’t been in ages but last time I went 15+ years ago I walked out saying I wanted to join PETA.

Nice places: cotton, wharehouse, waterfront, does

Casual: Cormiers (if not closed for winter), Daqs, field house

Just ate there and it was certainly a hand made burger, darn good too. You had one too many tullamore dew‘s

Beer prices were never great , but the burgers were legit. They have sucked for two years now. Glad you enjoyed yours but what I had was dogshit multiple times.

That seafood place the fieldhouse owner opened in west Monroe is damn good too. Can’t remember the name though.

Our current plan is to visit the zoo Saturday AM,
in Monroe? I can't imagine that would be anything more than a waste of time

Pretty much anywhere in Monroe outside of a couple of nice places is a zoo if you know what I mean.

1 go to Chennault
2 go to coke museum and gardens
3 go to planters - 2nd floor of cotton - have a drink and snack and overlook river
4 go to Does or Parish for a meal
5 go to ULM - enjoy the bayou and tailgating
6 go to the game

I love Johnny’s. It may just be nostalgia.

Hope y’all have a great time! Go Hawks!!!

I was always a Town & Country location patron. Nowadays, I hit up Mohawk Tavern and miss CuCoo’s

I was a Town & Country girl, too. Every Monday night after meetings for pizza and pitchers of beer.

I loved the Mohawk as well.

Reading all these has taken me on a walk down memory lane. Yes to the Airport Lounge, the one that was actually in the airport. Lots of Long Island Iced Tea there. Some of these places have been there a long time! I can’t believe someone mentioned Peking. I loved Genusa’s and had no idea it was still open!

Go Hawks Go!!!

I didn't know it was a Monroe thing, but I couldn't bring myself to trying it again. It was that bad (Baton Rouge location).

Johnny's seems to be a fairly polarizing pizza parlor

I figured this out in college. I grew up in the area and love Johnny’s. People that didn’t, don’t seem to care for it. All that to say, you may not be impressed.

The Biedenharn museum is worth a visit. The Aviation and military museum off of Kansas lane is great and not far from ULM.

I haven’t been to the zoo in well over a decade. Not sure what state it’s in.

Overall, there isn’t a lot of “must sees” in the area outside of the game. If you’re looking for something to eat besides Johnny’s, I highly recommend Waterfront Grill just down DeSiard from campus.

Freddie Cascio recently died in a car accident and the restaurant is unfortunately closed.

Moon Lake. Grab you some pallets for a fire, crank up the radio and there’s no need for anything else. Except maybe another person because it gets boring by yourself. Don’t get shot stealing the pallets and keep an eye out for devil worshippers.

Slim Chicken in West Monroe, TP Outdoors if youre into gun/hunting stores other than that....Duck Commander? You can go to Bawcomville just to tour it, we used to drive through for fun and saw something goofy going on pretty much every time.

Most of the campus sits on bayou desiard which is really scenic especially as the sun is setting. Parking won't be an issue for ya.

If you're still around Sunday make your way to moon lake marina. Ultra laid back house boat bar on Moon lake which is fed by the Ouchita River. Have some beers, a burger, kayak.. it's the best time in Monroe

Didn't know they had the Fieldhouse now. It used to be the old sports guy from KTVE. Trapps is the Trappey's hot sauce family. I always loved that old Bayle's Landing building. Kind of a dive but a dive with character.

Had a fire a few years ago and was closed for a while. Since they’ve reopened the atmosphere is still nice but the food has taken a dive.
