Maybe she wanted to leave it all to him

I guess it’s possible, but highly doubtful and there was never any indication that was her intent.

There are also several hundred acres of land involved, which I will inherit so long as he doesn’t find some way to swindle that, too. So I am concerned.

Might want to buy a few hours of time from a real estate/estate attorney.

My Mawmaw put his name as her beneficiary on all her accounts.
Then he is the benefactor and has claim to all of it. Seems like Mawmaw wanted him to have it all, he got it, and now the remaining siblings are pissed they didnt get any of it

He helped her pay taxes on all the properties when she was living, so to make it easier she put him on all the accounts.

I know my grandparents would have never wished for one of their kids to get all their cash, I’d stake anything on it.

You're probably right about that. Sad situation.

People that aren't funny about anything else, are funny about money.

They can’t. My Mawmaw put his name as her beneficiary on all her accounts

Unfortunately, that was the mistake if she truly wanted those accounts to be split amongst her children. If he was the sole payable on death beneficiary on those accounts then he was entitled to them and he was under no legal obligation to share the funds with anyone.

You have to forgive. It’ll eat you like a cancer. Then love him at arms length. The truth will help you sleep at night.

When my wife's grandmother passed away, her daughter was named as the executrix of the estate and proceeded to pillage all of her accounts, take possession of everything with the promise of divvying it up later and even had the grandmother's limit on her credit cards increased several times after she passed away. Things got ugly in court, they booted my wife's aunt and we haven't seen nor heard from them since.

We got screwed out of several hundred by a cousin. He sold it (inherited connected family land) without telling any of his cousins (who own the adjoining land). I'd payed him more than what he sold it to the strange for, if he'd just said something.

Found out my stepfather was cornering mom’s friends and sexually harassing them while mom was dying. House is ours but he’s damaged it and is refusing to leave now. I’m mostly worried about her ashes.

Nothing rips apart a loving family like a decent sized inheritance. It's crazy how often this happens

I've got an uncle that was very successful and always had a summer job lined up for us cousins. Went off the deep end with drinking. True alcoholic with a lot of money, so the bottom of his hole he's digging is very deep and he can afford to hang out there for a bit. Completely alienated himself from the whole family over the last 10 years.

Had a similar thing happen to my mom. Her uncle had a will and left her his house and my aunt some CDs worth about 250k.

Her uncle misspelled my mom’s name, and my aunt claimed it should all be hers. She railroaded my mom and my mom didn’t want to fight it. Created a huge rift in the family. I was super close to my cousin, we haven’t talked in years now since that occurred

I'd be cool with the cousins I guess but eff your aunt. That bitch would be dead to me forever for pulling crap like that.
