He then remarried. The woman raised his 3 kids he had from the deceased wife. They went on to have 2 kids of their own. When he died, she kept all his inheritance and gave it all to her own two biological kids. His first 3 previous kids who she raised got nothing.

Very common behavior from the second wife when given the opportunity to favor her biological children. The evil stepmother (and stepfather) trope exists for good reason

This is so admirable
My sister is in charge and she resents me asking questions or even asking for bank accounts etc.

He has told his sibs that he believes it was rightly his because he helped out my grandparents.

That right there hits home and burns me up.

My Aunt “helped” with my Grandmother on my Dad’s side who died from Alzheimer’s. Took all the inheritance, talking millions and everything oh sentimental value just vanished. Like any kind of pictures or anything. She sold her house too for half a million. Got all that… vehicles, land sold it all.
Took everything and did what your family member did.
Needless to say my Dad and I don’t talk to her.

Just curious, but if there wasn't a will, shouldn't the estate be settled in probate? It's not the best case as the gov't gets involved with the distribution and settlement, but without a will declaring what to do with the assets and funds of the estate, I thought that's when probate was applicable.

Something seems wrong in the OP. If there is no will, there is no executor. Estate should have been distributed through intestate succession

I feel your pain

My stepmom had dementia and before she got too sick she and my dad told me they’d taken out a 300k life insurance policy on her for the benefit of me and my sisters

When my dad died, my stepmom’s brother became her poa and signed that policy over to his two children. It really pisses me off to think about

Same for me. Only my sister and I, and we've been through this with both our parents. One had a will, other did not. Both went smoothly with no ill-will on either side.
