Worst decade for car models (looks)?

In my opinion, the 80’s was the worst decade for cars, looks-wise. Trucks/SUV’s, on the other hand, were probably some of the best body styles.
We’re never going to see the fins of the 50’s/60’s again. No more land yachts/muscle cars of the 60’s/70’s. The decadence and over-spending spawned a shite ton of cool cars in 90’s and 00’s. This decade has had a great run of good looking autos also.
The 80’s? I remember a Volvo and Benz that were cool but offerings from the majors (Toyota, Honda, GM, Ford, etc.) were fricking ugly.

The 80's sucked...big time. At least the music was good.

I consider the 80s as the greatest decade of the past century in every regard... except cars. I’m the poster child of the 80s kid but I have to agree with you. The 80s were terrible when it comes to autos.

80s are generally considered the worst decade for car design

The 90’s were pretty bad. The ford truck went from having that clean, square front to having an ugly, rounded look.

This current one blows chunks. Everything looks like a minivan.

My first car identically. 86 GT convertible.
But yeah, it was cool then but doesn't look great today. Would like to have it back though.

The American Ugly car Movement started in 1978. We got the Fairmont, Grenada, K-car, Chevette, Citation, Pontiac T-1000, And let's not forget a few years earlier, the Mustang II.
This crop of turdmobiles set the tone for the 80's.

And the hideous Toyota Starlet...shudder

How about the sumptuous lines of the 1980 Chevrolet Citation...

The late 70's into mid 80's was the worst.
There were a few good looking cars, 83-84 Hurst Olds, Monte SS, 85 Iroc, etc but for the most part you had shitboxes like Celebrities and Citations.

Everything in the 80's was straight and flat. Like, literally, one rectangle stacked on top of a longer one.
The 'cool' cars were still flat, but at least they had more angles.
The mid 70's gets a footnote because we were a Ford family, and what they did to the Mustang was sacrilege.
More recently, I'd say the trend to make 'mini SUVs' was pretty bad. They look like giant Nike shoes, with headlamps and wheels.

90’s had the 2 door Tahoe and the best looking Silverado/Sierra IMO. The Wrangler was also introduced in the 90’s.

280Z & ZX, RX-7, Camaro Z28, Trans AM were decent looking cars

At the time, I liked the general look of a standard Celica as a daily driver. I had one very similar to this one --
But, the mid-80's Supra was REALLY NICE --
