If you didnt experience the Louisiana Pavillion and the Wonderwall, then *you* are a faq.

I am because I love cocks. But all I knew about the World's Fair before we got there were those things.
The boat ride in the Swamp(La Pavillion) was really neat as was the ski lift thingy going along the river walk. I remember it went right over a Popeyes.

My only regret was not riding the Gondola.

My dad just brought that up recently out of the blue. I guess I was 7 or 8, but remember riding the gondola, and seeing some of the Italian dancers or whatever, and the giant Mardia Gras heads and mermaid things everywhere. But at that age, the memories are kind of a blur of walking around through crowds.

We were all over that fair. The cash only gondola was such an incredible boondoggle. The Perez family controlled it. The cash registers didn’t record the amount of cash they took in. They had “money runners” who walked uncounted cash from the registers to a room upstairs, where they counted and bundled cash.

Everyone in the entire operation took cash.

There were dozens of similar operations going on at the Fair.

Felt like I was flying though the mountains

China was cool too. I had my first Peking Duck there.

The food was good at China, right? That's what I remember, but I was just a kid.

Does anyone remember a Polynesian themed Sea World type show with dolphins and a killer whale?

I remember the day it flew over.

I remember waiting and waiting for it, and then got tired waiting and went into the Journalism building, and the minute at sat down at my desk I saw people outside pointing at the sky.

I thought it was. I’m from a small town and most certainly never ate Chinese food before.

I always feel like I remembered the World’s Fair more than I did, but realize how young I was when it came to NOLA. It was ‘84 and I was 6 or 7 but remember parts like it was yesterday. Does anyone remember the pirate ship that flipped upside down?
