No, what’s foolish is you agreeing with the internet language police poster above you who criticized me for using the phrase ‘it isn’t close’…Grownups should be able to have a conversation at 4am CST without being nazis about semantics .. this is all so dumb, just do whatever you want to do, Sparky , and let’s get back on topic .

I guess you don't go to Houston or Dallas very much if you truly believe this.

What are you trying to compare? You couldn’t pay me to live there but I’d visit again. I’d live in Memphis or Jackson suburbs.

Financial economic engine and banking- Mumbai
Arts, restaurants, theatre, opulence - Mumbai
Money- Mumbai

Poverty- Mumbai

Mumbai has the larger extremes. Someone with just a little bit of money can live like a king. Young professionals have maids (plural) doing all their chores. People that work for me that live in Mumbai don’t have to cook their own food or clean their own house. I’m talking 25 year olds have maids. You will have the most technologically advanced building and 5 star hotel on one corner with slums 2 blocks away. Large numbers of people walking around bare footed. The traffic is the worst I’ve ever seen. And, the smell. Trash and rubble seem to be everywhere. But, cranes and construction are non stop as investment is pouring in.

So, what are you trying to compare?

Was on a work assignment in Mumbai for six weeks and felt like six years. 23 million people with the vast majority living in poverty. Had a local driver and we has 3 fender benders. The traffic was like no other and I live now in Katy, TX. But most of all the dirt and smell can not be described. I said everyone should be forced to go there and you will realize how great we have it here. Car horns blaring constantly all the time! Had no idea what I was getting my self into when I accepted that assignment!

Geezus what a pussy you are. “Look at me, I’m shitting on BR! Please join me!” I lived in Dallas for years and the traffic, even with all the toll roads and bypasses etc is the worst Ive ever experienced. I know it’s the cool thing to shite all over BR but it’s past being cool. Imagine a grown arse man complaining about shite like this.

Mumbai is significantly safer, but less culcha. I’d say it’s close, but I’d rather live in Mumbai. Even if you make 30k usd in Mumbai, you live like a millionaire and will never see the bad parts of Mumbai. Can get a penthouse overlooking the slums, 3 French maids, a driver. A 2 hour flight from the beaches of goa every weekend where you can find lots of Russian women

The nice parts of Mumbai are probably orders of magnitude nicer than the nice parts of Baton Rouge. That’s not a knock on Baton Rouge but Mumbai is a global financial center and Baton Rouge isn’t. There is really really serious money in Mumbai but also street shitting squalor also way worse than anything in Baton Rouge. So basically what I am saying is, your post is idiotic and we are all dumber for having read it.

same with Bangalore in “white field” where the tech parks are. I’d say most Indians would be resistant towards living in Baton Rouge even if it came with us citizenship

I’ve driven all over Baton Rouge at 2am countless times and have no recollection of traffic anywhere. Certainly not enough to constitute being “stuck.”

Was recently in India.

Never needed tropical disease immunizations, beware of rabies from stray/street dogs, worry about consuming water or ice cubes in Baton Rouge, and traffic is 2-3 times worse than Baton Rouge.

That said, I prefer to not live in either of those cities.

I have some Indian doctors who are my neighbors and they constantly shite on the city in the Midwest where we live. They truly look down on it and feel India is superior. It’s interesting.

Yup, I got outsourced to India lol for 8 months, Bangalore. Best time of my life and miss it. It would suck to be poor though. I was living large on a US income and may have gotten a little carried away. Had my own penthouse, driver that I affectionately named Kumar (White Castle), a caretaker, and cook. Never seen that much tail in my life either. Upper crust Indian women can be HOT, not to be confused with the US quality.

Yeah from the airport to Whitfield takes 3 hours, but you could rent a helicopter for I think around $150 at the time, which is very reasonable especially if split with other people.

No argument on the water. You have to drink bottled water or you die.

I'm tired of this, people always bitching. I love Baton Rouge

I love driving over the new bridge early in the morning and seeing the foggy forest covering the city

I love walking on LSU's campus

I love the local restaurants, coffee shops, and book stores

Louie's, Simple Joe, Highland Coffee, Coffee Call, Dearman's, Red Stick Reads, RIP Cottonwood, Gail's, Anthony's, Tony's, and many more

I love going to Calandros to get groceries

I love the little things we can do like Christmas lights at Burden

You can love something and still see it's flaws and want to improve it
