Fine by me. I'm pretty sick of athletes acting like they are super citizens who don't have to abide by the rules that apply to the rest of us.

Frankly this is on the PGA for not suspending play once this disaster occurred.

Alternatively Scheffler should have asked for permission before pulling this stunt. Regardless, no fricks given.

A witness has come forward saying the officer was running after the vehicle and tripped on the median, he then became enraged and beat Scheffler's vehicle with his mag-light

quote:

When [Scheffler] drove past him, the cop got very angry pursuing the car. … My impression was he was kind of running alongside chasing the car, and maybe he tripped and fell. I mean, there was kind of an outcropping or median, you know, by the front gate. And keep in mind, it was raining. It was 6 o'clock in the morning. It was dark. ... I could see him stumble, but I did not have a very clear view of exactly how you want to categorize his contact with the car,"

This MENSA member needs to look for a new line of work.

Can't wait for him to pop up as a NOPD chief of police candidate in a couple years...

Initial police reports claimed Scheffer's vehicle "dragged" the officer to the ground.

According to ESPN reporter Bob Wischusen, who was on the scene at the time of the arrest, the police officer who arrested Scheffler tripped and fell while running alongside the World No. 1 golfer's vehicle.
You gotta love how LEO have a totally different twist on the events in question such that the perp takes all the responsibility. Uncanny.

Not only that, but the officer's version of events has him almost certainly doing something against training/protocol by attempting to grab a moving vehicle.

I can't imagine any police department in the country trains officers to try to physically stop a moving vehicle by grabbing on to it.

It's great when cops do something they are never supposed to do, which results in injury and all responsibility for said injury falls on the "perp" and none of it falls on the cop who did something against his training.

Especially a car turning into a parking lot.

It’s Is not a violent criminal trying to escape apprehension. Just a clown move by the cop and it seems the whole system is trying to put on a circus for attention.

That only has one way in and one way out. Unless Scottie was going to ditch the car and sprint across 18 fairway to hide in a dumpster, he was doing the cop a favor.

Well, had Scottie not so brazenly tried to flee the scene and speed off in a huff and used his status and affluence as a source of perceived "better than the rest of us" mentality, the fine, upstanding peace officer wouldn't have been put in the position to trip and fall, would he? Blame lies squarely on Scottie.

I literally clicked reply, then I said “wait a second”

for me to give you a 9/10 I would have had to have replied

a 10/10 is where I reply to the troll with profanity

the rare 11/10 (called the godknat) is actually trolling so hard you get suspended

So a fat dumb ex NOPD cop arrested the worlds #1 golfer and charged him with felony assault of an officer because he tried to tackle a vehicle and fell down and ripped his pants. Over a minor traffic misunderstanding in the dark and rain.

All while violating multiple department policies.

What a massive fail.

Fire this piece of shite.
