On one hand the idea of getting upset by your highchooler reading about sex upsetting someone is hilariously out of touch. On the other hand if you it’s not appropriate to be read aloud a at a school board meeting then why are you letting your kids read it? Honestly sounds like two stupid people arguing with each other to me.
While I think both idiots handled the situation poorly, I don’t know that it’s quite that clear cut. Someone can hold the position that discussion at a public hearing should be appropriate for all ages while also believing there can be things accessible to high school students that wouldn’t be appropriate for middle school students.
Now, reasonable people can absolutely disagree regarding whether books that have passages like the one being read are appropriate for high school students, but I don’t view her being kicked out for reading it during a public hearing as the hypocritical gotcha some people are seeing it to be.

What a bunch of fricking prudes. I went to private school and we had books in the library that talked about anal beads. We had to read books about people jerking off in movies theaters in high school.

She needs to sue them. She asked for an explanation, and they just went all power trip on her. She continued asking for an explanation and they lorded it over her by having her removed. If she sues them, they will be forced to give an explanation and try to justify their poor actions. Get it in court and on the record.

The corruption in our government goes all the way down to the school boards. These sick fricks that allow that trash in schools are bought and paid for.

I’ll just stick with catching the doubloons in the future.

Well now I'm curious what book it was.

Not appropriate for a meeting of adults but just fine for children.
That’s not why she was removed. They removed her because it shined a negative light on the demented leftist nonsense they use to propagate children.

You completely misunderstand the debate.
The argument should be, "why is this book necessary to be put into the school library".
The debate should not be, "why should this book be removed? Especially if you can't read it aloud in a committee hearing".
There are fair discussions about keeping Huck Finn, Catcher in the Rye, and Streetcar Named Desire out of public school libraries. But the arguments are more compelling about why they should be included.
l8r g8r would not have such compelling arguments.

Should have had a line of people to keep reading as each proceeding person was removed.
that is what I was expecting when the old fart got up - but alas - no backbone.
This is ridiculous = how can this be allowed to happen anywhere, even in a sewage pit like a democrat meeting.

you seem to be proud of it - send your own daughters to that school (if you have managed to have any)
