Lol you sure about that?

Exactly, I can never remember how it goes. But i'm not picking up a random snake anyway. Better safe than sorry.

Comments are savage to him. I guess he just handled them with no precautions at all, including having antivenom handy.

Yeah, sometimes there’s a fine line between accepting risks vs. irresponsibility. He went far beyond that line. I’m not wishing death on anybody, but if he survived he deserves every snide comment coming his way.

The copper/burnt orange line down the top of the snake, velvet tail & chevron pattern are the clear give away for a timber rattler.

I just watched some of the videos from that guy. He had a death wish. He also appears to be on the spectrum. I don't see how this could end any other way for him.

The comments continue to be savage, and rightfully so based upon his handling and his reckless statements.

I always heard "red and yellow, kill a fellow, red and black, a friend of jack."

Yeah rumor is that Kentucky Reptile Zoo had antivenin but chose not to send it - it’s there for the protection of their workers, not a random unprepared suicidal moron. Supposedly Miami’s Venom One unit was able to provide 3 vials. So right now he’s dependent on a ventilator and kidney dialysis.

I encountered one of these last year just sunbathing on the sidewalk next to my apartment. Fully grown though. I didn't know what kind it was initially but I could tell by it's freaking head that it was venomous. The triangle-shaped head should have clued her in.

If he makes it he will be paying the hospital bill for the rest of his life, with a sizable chunk going to Venom One.

“No,my worms keep biting me”.

That happened to a black kid fishing Bayou Rapides in Ellick many years ago.I remember it well, was in the newspaper.
Only difference to the story I heard was that the kid was doing well catching catfish while man fishing nearby wasn’t catching anything.
He went over to ask the kid what he was using for bait and he said “biting worms” which were baby water moccasins.
Kid collapsed shortly thereafter,and died.

Wow. Maybe that's how the story went. Haven't thought about it in many many years. Was thinking it was just one of the many horror stories my older sister used to tell me when I was a little kid.

As for timber rattlers, I've killed a many over the years. In a way I kind of hate to because they seem to be the calmest and most docile snake in the woods. Just minding their own business and not wanting to bother anybody. Not so much the diamondback.

She clearly lacks brain cells. If I see a snake in my house, I’m sure as hell not gonna frick with with it unless I was trained. This is why animal control is a thing.
