No, they profiled you because you are black and look like a hood rat that's going to find a reason to file a lawsuit.

Probably had security following them in case they fled
They will get enough hollering RACISM to get charges dropped and a free purse.
Alexandria has a Macs thst sells groceries at their cost plus 10%. There is a black lady in town that doesn’t understand this policy and views it as an up charge that targets blacks. Her plan is to go to the news station. She is ignorant

On the footage, the officer can be heard sayings that the name on the business card doesn’t match.
Since when did store clerks start verifying id? I don’t think that ever happened to me

I looked back and I didn't see any mention of race in the subject line or post.
You posted a pic in the OP, and you know exactly why you posted it. Just like you intentionally left out any mention so you could provide this exact response.

Bought my wife a Tory Burch bag from Nordstrom and the clerk was more than eager to show me the “high end bags/collections”.......ugghhhh. No. $500+ is more than enough for a fricking purse.

Reading your choppy copy and paste work left me
For you.

In high end stores especially, the cashiers are told to check ID especially around the holidays. I think what cued it is; the pay some with cash, some with a business card that does not match the name on the ID. Sometimes if you call out somebody that's name does not match it could get scary and you think they could flip out, pull a weapon because they are caught.
So you make an excuse and call the police and then store security. (Some stores protocol is to call store security with a code or do a PA with a code that store security knows is call 911.) This is done whether the customer is black, white, purple or orange.
The newspaper article is messed up because it claims they saw the receipt. If it was fraud or a stolen card the receipt doesn't mean anything but it is evidence of fraud.

Without reading this thread, I'm assuming there's a lot of jealousy & bitterness about a black woman being able to afford designer bags.
Posted on 12/31/17 at 10:23 am to GreatLakesTiger24
No not really jealousy but a lot of confusion over wtf went down and why?

nope
and even this point is wrong b/c she paid for a chunk of this with a business credit card (for a business that is unrelated to bags)

I can see someone ignorant like you making such an assumption.

What is the OP's problem? Sounds like the lady was indeed mistreated. I think we all understand the dilemma the stores have, but the store and police were in the wrong.

You must not own a business. Every business owner in the world buys things "not directly related" to their business.

he point, which many in this thread have missed, is that the woman paid for these luxury items partly with cash and the rest on her business credit card.
This has nothing to do with your thread title.
You wrote a thread about fraud and now you’re making it about financial decisions?

I have done plenty of Christmas shopping at “high end stores”. Never have I had to verify my id

It’s dumb. But isnt far off of those living in shitty trailers driving jacked up trucks worth 50k.
Trucks have utility. They can use that truck to pull a boat or trailer. In many cases, those are company trucks they use for work.
Bags are just stupid girl logic status symbol crap.
