White Guy here and most of you are proving just how dumb you are! I’m more confused after reading the comments and not sure what the OP intentions were.
Also love how we denegrate women who own luxury purses but when we want to buy a 55-70k truck, or go on a 5500.00 big game hunt it makes perfect sense. I’m not filthy rich by any means but my wife owns an LV bag that was over 3k. We take ridiculous vacations and spend too much money on certain things. On other things we’re very frugal, and even max out our retirements every year. Plenty of money in savings and overall enjoy life.
Stop judging people on purchases if you have zero clues as to their situations.

Ive read this entire thread and I still don’t understand why the clerk called the police to begin with? If the woman and her daughter had the money to buy the merchandise, cash or credit card, why were the police called? If the card wasn’t legit why didn’t the clerk tell the lady so? This is all a cluster frick situation. What am I missing here?

Clerk probably told to not directly confront a potential thief.
Thieves steal credit cards then check limits. They will combine cash or other credit cards to make large purchases.

Designer bags aren't sewn together with unicorn hair. You're paying for a name and that's it.
Trucks/Cars/Hunting Trips have tangible benefits for costing so much.
When an automobile manufacturer can make a fully loaded truck with all the bells and whistles, that's just as luxurious, powerful and dependable for like 10k... THEN you can bitch about guys dropping 60 or 70k for the same truck with a different company logo on it.
