why’s he having an encounter with police?

Last August, Irondale police responded to a report that a man on Highway 78 was running in and out of traffic and acting erratically, AL.com reported.
The man running around in traffic was Phillip. Sandra said her husband was having a mental health crisis due to work stress and was not committing a crime when police arrived to restrain him.

and you devised that the police are poorly trained???

Police training in the U.S. is most often measured in weeks, while in many other countries it is measured in months or years.
"Our training is outdated, antiquated, and is trying to do on the cheap what other places have done in a comprehensive way," PERF Executive Director Chuck Wexler told ABC News.
A 2018 Justice Department study of state and local law enforcement training academies found that the average length of core basic police training in the U.S. is 833 hours, or less than 22 weeks. A more recent survey by PERF found a similar result, with responding agencies reporting an average of 20 weeks of basic police training.
In comparison, police recruits in Japan get between 15 and 21 months of training. Police in Germany get 2.5 years of training. And in Finland, police education takes three years to complete.

Not saying they aren’t or are, just saying that a fat, out of shape, coke head, 52yo mental dies and you decide it’s due to poorly trained police interaction. Lol

If you plan on getting high and fighting cops you're gonna need to be in shape if you want to survive.

but at this point it really isn't a debate that American police forces are wildly untrained in relation to the rest of the developed world.

George Floyd died of a fentanyl OD

I remember around ten years ago when a white boy on drugs died after being hogtied by Southaven police. Don’t remember anyone rioting or making a saint out of him like George Floyd

Holy shite. Imagine if you told taxpayers that a new police recruit would be ready for work THREE YEARS from the date of hire. Good luck with that.
You can compare our police to ones around the world all you want but the blunt truth is that we are paying them $15 an hour (small departments) whereas policing in other countries pays way more. Because those countries have outrageous income tax levels. I just left Sweden. My coworker there pays over 50% income tax rate. The UK is above 60% for many earners.
You get what you pay for.

Riot? Here's the difference...we probably should be upset and definitely investigate the cops who are involved...but what we're NOT going to do is blame all cops or a significant portion of the population.

Don't blame the wife for the comparison... probably the only way for her to get attention to the story.
You know, if it’s me and I’m the dead, coked-up 52 yo that got myself tased, I think I want my widowed wife to sweep it all under the rug so the world doesn’t know what a dumbass I am

Ok, I'll have to reschedule to riot another day, I'll have family over for Labor Day. Sorry.
