A friend of mine committed suicide last month. No warning or anything. I'll never understand what could drive someone to take their own life.

Spoken like a man who never had to live with immense pain and suffering.

Trust me, I understand this sentiment as having personally dealt with some family members that required help. I can assure you that no amount of 'help' from the gov't will fix it. In fact, less gov't would most likely make it better.

So, there were no suicides in this country before Biden?

depression rates have accelerated for young adults since social media has become more prevalent since the mid-late 2000s

I understand nobody can tell what's going on inside someone else's mind, but she sure doesn't look like someone who would commit suicide. Again, I understand looks means nothing. She just seemed to be a positive person, but I don't know her private life. I hope there isn't some sort of weird foul play here.

Total speculation but my guess is she was dealing with some sort of past trauma, abuse or sexual assault or something that ate her up.

Life could not possibly be easier for someone who looks like her. She must have had legit severe mental health issues

A kid I know was borderline suicidal for a couple of years and absolutely believed nothing would ever get better. He probably only hung on for his family. Now he’s engaged, has a really great job, and a new house. It’s so sad that so many people just give up. Who ever knows what will happen if you keep doing the right things?

Depression is absolutely not the same as sadness.

Depression is anger turned inwardly, or so I’ve been told.

Depression and anxiety can result from a lot of different bottled up feelings. Anger, sadness, trauma, etc. If you don’t process and release it, it can fester and manifest in a multitude of different ways.

Social media absolutely causes depression and mental illness. It creates fake perceptions of everyone else having far better lives than you bc they only post the good things, the best pictures, etc
