I mean, assuming it was all "real" (again, I'm not even doing that, just sort of playing devil's advocate), I'd have to guess the powers that be running the show here saw what a dicey situation it was and would do everything they could to try to keep it from being a bigger 'scene.'
Having people sort of talk him down seems the most logical course here over cuffing the guy and hauling him out before he gets awarded the Oscar.
