Yes indeed and only a moron would disagree.

The interesting question is whether that was a feature or a bug.

You want me to be better by wearing a mask to prevent nano particles flowing through? Be better by wearing a mask walking to my table to eat but magically those nano particles respect me sitting down to eat when I take off the mask? Cmon dude. You are either trolling or are a covidian. We played the ridiculous mask game once. We arent playing again

So everything LSU has done thus far regarding BLM, LGBT+, and 2020 and beyond COVID restrictions hasn’t made you disassociate already?

The day Covid escaped the lab in China, there was a set number of humans on the planet that would eventually get it. That number includes everyone on the plant, except for the small number of people who had pre-existing immunity to Covid.

Now there is certainly a margin of error there and some extremely small number of people have avoided getting covid, mostly by removing themselves from participating in the society. The vast majority of even those people eventually got it.

No one that continued to participate in society avoided covid, even if they were extremely diligent about masks, social distancing etc (except for the extremely small number of immune people). Virtually all of the people claiming they avoided it, actually had it, but perhaps a minor case.

You have the personal credentials to back that up? Love all these arm-chair virologists who know it all and better than the professionals.

It was never about 100% efficacy in preventing virus transmission. Multiple studies have shown reduction not elimination. I'm sure reduction wasn't worth it to you, but it makes sense to me.

I cannot believe that after 3 years, people still don't get it. Masks wearing have little to no effect on the transmission of COVID, it's not just 'arm-chair virologist' but well-respected journals like The Cochrane Review, released their analysis of:
quote:

12 trials (10 cluster-RCTs) comparing medical/surgical masks versus no masks to prevent the spread of viral respiratory illness (two trials with healthcare workers and 10 in the community. Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza-like illness (ILI)/COVID-19 like illness compared to not wearing masks (risk ratio (RR) 0.95, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.84 to 1.09;

quote:

9 trials, 276,917 participants; moderate-certainty evidence. Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of laboratory-confirmed influenza/SARS-CoV-2 compared to not wearing masks (RR 1.01, 95% CI 0.72 to 1.42

Cochrane study

If you still maintain that mask will prevent or reduce transmission of COVID, you are ignorant. Even public health care officials are backing away from any future mask mandates.

You’d be wrong since I was against them from day 1. I have the receipts.

Harms were rarely measured and poorly reported (very low-certainty evidence).

"It would be accurate to say that the review examined whether interventions to promote mask wearing help to slow the spread of respiratory viruses, and that the results were inconclusive."

The paper—a rigorous assessment of 78 studies—was published by Cochrane, an independent policy institution that has become well known for its reviews. The review’s authors found “little to no” evidence that masking at the population level reduced COVID infections, concluding that there is “uncertainty about the effects of face masks.” That result held when the researchers compared surgical masks with N95 masks, and when they compared surgical masks with nothing.

… On March 8, 2020, Fauci said "there's no reason to be walking around with a mask," according to Reuters
