Los Angeles got 2 inches of rain this week from that storm.

At that rate Louisiana would need 12 Tropical Storm Hilary’s to catch up to our regular rainfall levels.

Winds should be low 5-10mph out the North and switch back to the South 5-10mph this afternoon

With the winds out of the north there’s smoke all the way south of I10 and as far east as Jennings

This was inevitable when creepy Joe started promoting all the flamers and blowhards.

My sister lives outside of Merryville and I just spoke to my mom about it after I saw this thread. It is not mandatory yet. They have multiple dozers working making fire lanes trying to pinch the fire off. A friend of mine that lives Southeast of the fire not far from Hwy 27 just posted this on FB

My money says your sister or your friend, or both, has the last name Cooley.

You can see it a little this morning, but nothing like it was last night.

Damn, Many last week, Mervill this week. We are surrounded.

I know. As someone mentioned earlier, I had a good bit of tree damage from Laura on my property and it's mostly still all laying right where it was.

I have a highway, a creek and a side road that triangulates my camp/shed should any thing catch fire around there.

Was responding to the Obama comment, you should do better policing the site.

Not surprising locals have not been allowed to fight it, I don’t think they have regular firefighters in Beauregard parish. If they do, they are the vast minority. 98% of them are volunteers and are just rednecks that wanna put lights and sirens on their personal vehicles.

The fact that so many resources are available for this fire is a good thing. It means they aren't tied down elsewhere and someone isn't having to make tough decisions to let things burn.

That has been the MO for alot of fires this fire season. As soon as they go up they're able to throw alot of resources at them. That only works as long as things stay relatively calm elsewhere.

All residents, whole town, mandatory evac due to wildfires

Imagine something like this breaking out near a big city. Our cities have lots of trees and very flammable old houses.
