It is showing up less on radar now since it started showing up last night. Hopefully they're getting it knocked down as it approaches the highway.

The sheriff and forestry say it is 60% contained. They are also throwing a lot of resources at the corner of Hwy 27 and 110 to keep it from jumping the road and carrying on.

They have thrown lots of resources at this fire, and what bad is they are all out of Texas. Luckily nothing major in their home region.

Not true. TX has helped from what I hear but there are crews from surrounding parishes helping too and the LA National Guard.

Over 15,000 acres have burned or are burning.

The only structure damages so far have been to deer lease camps. No reports of homes or businesses burning down

I’m sorry. You are correct about that. I mean the tanker planes that are dumping. From Abilene, College Station, and Tyler I believe. Ground personnel and helicopters are local

Yea I doubt we have any of those here in LA as there isn't usually a need unlike in West TX

Agreed, but sure seems like we could justify a few of the smaller prop tankers. Like the one that just flew over my house!

It’s insane to see those planes dumping fire retardant in south Louisiana. Glad they mobilized that. Hope it works.

Showing up on radar a little better again. Looks like they've put some ground between the two main spots, though, and the one closer to Singer seems smaller.

This is Radar Omega's wildfire color scheme.

Good thing is there’s so much around both of them burnt already that they shouldn’t be able to get a good run. Been bad, but way it’s made a circle it’s kind of burnt a lot of fuel as long as they keep it from jumping roads

“Folks, the wind made a liar out of everyone. We have received word that the fire has jumped Hwy 27 and is moving East. Bob Cooley Road, Ira Cooley Road, Mitchell Loop, and the roads in that immediate area…Mandatory evacuation…they need to get out now.“

Jumping highway there is not good. Lot of timber land and fuel with several houses spaced amongst all timber. Different than all timber burnt yesterday and today

My mom is from Singer and I’ve got two aunts and a cousin who still live there on some of the family property. Need to check on them...thanks for these updates.
