That’s what I wear fishing, and I use the extra pockets for actually storage for fishing gear, esp bank fishing. Yeah, to the age I don’t GAS about style…Function over style past 50….

I was in the Army, I can't function without large pockets on the side of my legs.
Where would I put my spent magazines?

This. They’re fine for fishing or working outdoors, mowing the lawn, or any other activity where you can wear wrinkly, baggy clothes and NGAF.
Otherwise they look like shite. Unkempt and poor.

Great for holding extra bags of soft plastics.

I find they are a great place for a second gun and extra mags.

So you mean only straight guys wear them.

They have become a stereotypical target for hate, kind of like the mullet. While that makes the hate go overboard, there are a host of reasons not to like them. In hot climates, the extra layers of fabric needed to form pockets will just be inherently hotter than a single layer of fabric. And in any climate, filling the pockets will make the person look like a bulky mess. Having that much weight attached to a moving object with nothing but fabric just looks silly. This is especially bad on the lower pockets near the knees. Having the bottom of your shorts swinging around and bouncing off of your legs makes you look like a jackass. And then to swing back to the beginning, if you aren't carrying a ton of shite, there's no reason to be wearing them in the first place.

Absolutely correct, given up on giving a shite about what others think.

Adult men worrying about what other men wear, what a country

Imagine thinking that being in shape and not dressing like a slob means that you're gay. The typical cope of the fat, middle-aged American male that's given up.

Everyone cares about what others think in one way or another.

Who's "worrying" about what other men wear? Prance around in a dress and heels for all I care, Nancy. Just be honest about the energy that you'll be giving off if you do.

Not my style but if that's what you like to wear, by all means go ahead.

They are way too long, bulky, and just look overall sloppy.

What is there to like?

Because they look sloppy. Baggy clothes in general look sloppy, especially if you’re a little overweight like yours truly.

I’m not saying you need skinny jeans or daisy dukes, but properly fitted clothes just look better.

Now why the hell people are wearing high waters now I don’t get. It looks stupid.

Incorrect. It’s the opposite. I’m too busy winning life to care about what people think.

I have short legs. Cargo shorts go below my knee. Add wearing regular sneakers, and you see just my shins. That shite is so unappealing. Yes I give a shite what my appearance is. So for me, it's at least 7" shorts. I need them above the knee.
