My father lives by this as well. He thinks boxer shorts are shorts and frequents the dollar general in them often. I mean he is convinced they are normal shorts even though there are no pockets and there is a dick hole in the front.

It's not difficult to wear cargo shorts and not look like a slob. Not all cargo shorts hang down past your knees and you don't have to wear the trashiest shirt full of holes with them.

The one extreme is that there are some extremely trashy folks that wear cargo shorts making it look bad for all. However, the other extreme is the dipshit wearing the non cargo shorts that looks like a try hard. If you're trying to dress up and look nice, don't wear shorts period. Looking like you just hit the tanning bed and the spa so you can wear your shorts with a nice shirt and think it's acceptable is equally as trashy. I hate both extremes equally.

The thing about fashion is it's cyclical and comes full circle. I'm old enough to remember when skinny jeans and high waters were the thing. Then you were a complete fricking dork if you wore those types of jeans. Wearing shorts with 5/7" inseams were made fun of. Then cargos and long board style shorts came about. Now, we've come full circle and it's cool to wear skinny and tight fitting jeans that are high waters. The generation of kids in elementary school will come out when they're teenagers and say that cargo shorts are cool again.

It's just a constant cycle.

I wear these almost every day from April to December.

Royal Robins Blue Water shorts.

They’re the best of both worlds.
Not too long snd bulky.
A couple cargo pockets.

I've never owned a pair. They appear to be mostly owned by urbanites who try to look outdoorsy. A favorite of leftist profs for a few decades

I wear them because I like how they fit; rarely put anything in the pockets except my wallet, phone, keys & coins.

My wife buys them for me. Makes me wonder if she has an ulterior motive.

So because I make a very generic basic level comment I think I'm "Mr. Dior" now? What a stupid fricking remark to make.

People despise utility. They're threatened by it because they know it's effective.

America is full of pomping, preening aesthetic whores.

Also America is lazy. If you're wearing cargo shorts, there might be an expectation of getting shite done. Nobody wants that pressure.

Cargo shorts are for guys that don’t give a shite about how they look. That’s cool too. Whatever.

But no man with a concerted effort to look like they care about their presentation to the world walks into their closet and goes …”ooh cargo shorts!”

Not all men are metrosexuals.

Lots of men spend their free time working outdoor on all sorts of projects, or hobbies that require equipment, hence the benefit of pockets.

They don’t need a whole closet full of clothes to “go clubbing”.

I mean you didn't say you wanted to suck his dick. I agree though. He's gonna look good in whatever he wears.

He will only do this at the dollar general and I am sure he isn't the worse dressed person in the store. Plus we live in the Livingston parish of the coastal parishes so its all good.
