And unless you go to a good steakhouse, you rarely get the quality of beef that is advertised.

Prime filets are $40/lb at fresh market, half the time their choice has better marbling than the prime too. Not like it’s always super primo stuff.

Economics law of supply and demand. There are a lot more weenie vegans these days competing with cattle for food. It's now more expensive to feed cattle since their food has become more scarce thanks to vegans. Since the cost of feeding cattle has increased, the market price has had to increase as well.

Damned vegans.

why? so you can quote something you read on Mother Jones this morning?

eta- my family is part of a Brangus processing consortium, and I can assure you beyond a shadow of a doubt, normal market forces have absolutely nothing to do with the rise of beef. including inflation

So what's your answer? And little that's happened over the last year and a half has been "normal". That's what I meant by "in light of the shite going on".

the primary issue is the cost of inputs skyrocketing beyond what a normal “bubble” would produce, fuel being the main driver

the main secondary issue is the back end costs of getting the meat to market without taking on the added cost of labor. which is impossible when competing directly against government subsidies. that are not subject to the same competitive forces the private sector is

“shite that’s been going on” is not an appropriate response when 99% of it is man made. the death toll wouldn’t move in either direction by more than a tenth of a percent if we had operated as normal since May of last year

So you don't think it's his administration causing inflation by printing usd out of thin air?

In Monroe steak prices are normal. All of the Brookshire’s have bone-in ribeyes on sale for $6.99 / lb.
