Many very wealthy people aren’t like this at all.
As in they don’t flaunt it? Maybe.
All wealthy people buy nice shite. I had to explain what use tax was on a $300k piece of art to one client and another buy a soccer team in the last week

If you were a billionaire, you’d also live like one

If you’re really well to do and not trying to look rich, I don’t see a problem in having nice things.
If youre at a point where 100,000 dollars is like 100 dollars then live life because you can’t take it with you when you die.
I say that if you’re not in debt and have your shite together and shite together to leave to your loved ones once youre gone.
Then party like it’s 1999.

Why do you care how others choose to spend their money?
And there it is - you’re just as bad as the people you’re admonishing.

One of the dumber question repeated ad nauseam on this site

Usually the one who determines what flaunting is, is the one in the envious position.

You know he gives a ton to charity, as in billions?
Now understand, that good works dont get us into Heaven, or impress God, but certainly a critical fellow like yourself must give an awful lot to charity, right?
Right?

I think texas people are worse... mcmansions, 100k vehicles, debt up to their eyeballs, all for show... they truly care about what other people think of them, and it's kind of pathetic if you ask me
Proceeds to brag about how many boats he has and how soon he can retire

I understand it fine, it’s just a stupid question.
Those exist, no matter how many times your momma tried to make you feel better about asking them

I'm 39, I live comfortably in a 2500sqft house... I have an 8yr old ford truck and my ol lady drives a corolla (she loves her car)... we have 2 boats (17ft bay and 10ft john), no kids yet, and 1 dog... I can retire at 55 and she can retire at 50, yet we vacation 4 times/year... we don't social media, and we don't keep up with the jonses... cuz a lot of them will be working well past 55... we live modest, so our golden years can be as great as possible
Congrats man. Super impressive.

If I had Bezos money, the actual Bezos would look fiscally responsible by comparison.

I want to enjoy the ride of life, stay low key and have something to pass down
You can’t take it with you. At some point it’s nice to live a little while making good money. For some people it may be taking 4 vacations and owning a camp on the water. For others it may be a Porsche and Rolex. I’d be miserable if I just watched my accounts grow and never bought things that I enjoy.
