quote:In Japan, it is the law that businesses have to measure the body fat content of all of their employees aged 40-74.
This point of view is not exclusive to China. It's common in Asian culture, and it's also why they're significantly healthier than their western counterparts. America has become a place of utter delusion.
These countries recognize that obesity is a problem.
quote:They also charge the employers more if their employees are overweight.
Employers may be required to pay more into the national health care system if the waistlines of employees, their families and retirees exceed the government’s limits of 33.5 inches for men and 35.4 inches for women.
quote:
Employees in Japan who are determined to be overweight can choose to participate in weight-loss programs, but participation may become mandatory if the company faces fines, Hauert says.

One thing about the Chinese and their biggest redeeming quality is that they are proud to be where they’re from and are never apologetic about being who they are. Kind a like the RussiansWho are proud and unapologetic of their heritage. Those things are not OK in the United States here that’s considered toxic masculinity

Fat people should pay more for insurance everywhere. It’s a health hazard.

Not only is it ok to call people fat in China, it's also common to pee in their cokes.

They’re literally fricking having a genocide of the Uyghurs Muslims for all to see and it’s apparently kosher because it’s the “cultural norm” over there. You think they give a frick about fat people?

Wait. So you are saying their Patriotism is fake because it’s forced?

Because even China recognizes that fat shaming works

It's funny the liberals in here talking about how bad china is while their behavior and policy and support of censorship are pushing us more toward chinese style government every day.

My acupuncturist is Chinese. Her daughter came home from college. Her first words to her “oh my god you so fat, no man will want you”
her husband is American and told her she couldn’t say that, to which her reply was, “why not my fault she so fat”
It’s cultural. Theirs isn’t always right, but it’s not always wrong either.

It’s much less of a commentary on China and much more of a deficit of America. The same thing takes place in Japan and South Korea if those comparison are more to your tastes.

Because the people who promote bad behavior here are trying to tear the country down. The people who condemn it there are trying to become stronger.
And it's the same people, here and there.

In many Asian countries it’s a sign of health and prosperity.. even revered.
See the Sumo culture in Japan.

This is awesome. I wish we could do this in America. But we know a segment of our population would burn the country down over it.
